Hey, I'm new and seem to be having trouble beginning to actually play the game.

I click "Start Game", agree to run in the following security window, but the window after that is in German, which I don't understand.

I think I can pick out that it wants me to type in my character name and password, but thats's all I can really pick out.

There also appears to be a drop down bar that lets you select your language, but clicking on english doesn't seem to change the immediate window to english, therefore not helping me much.

All help is much appreciated!

Have you already mak a account using the homepage?

On the main page, click on "Account" and make sure that is set for English also then try again.

Yes, I have already made an account and a character.

It happened to me too. If you change the language, log in, log back out and re-run it should be fine.

Ok, I just made sure it was set to english on my account. I didn't help with the start-up window.

Than you have to write in the first row your charakters name, in the second row your password. Then chose englisch as language and click "spielen" as far as i know next time all should be in english

That's what my friend reccomended too, but it doesn't allow me to click "spielen".

Nope. The button is just greyed out.

Hmm...I tried to erase my character name. The Play button got disabled. I retyped my character name and the Play button remained disabled. I had to erase the password and retype it to be enabled. Maybe it's a similar case? Password has to be more than 4 letters too.

Notice: the password is the same as your account have.

I had this problem. What help is this: download the Jar to your desktop, and double click it from there. Then the button is not grayed out. It saves your language in a file after you log in successfully, and next time it will be english.
