Common depot.A question of theft?

Is there a reason we do not have depots that can be used by more than one person?
Is it a problem of scripting or a simple question of potential theft? It would be useful for a guild I think, to have a depot that all the members could contribute and withdraw from. What is deposited
in the depot would be a matter of trust for the group who uses it. This may well have been discussed before but I cannot find such a thread by searching any combination of words relating to depot usage.

And that server crashes would cause everything in the depot to disappear.
