Hey, look at me being a noob. The hilarity. Anyway, whenever I load up Illa, the areas of the map I've previously uncovered have vanished. Anyway to rectify this?
Thanks.

Due the fact that your map is saved on your hardrive (usually C:\Documents and Settings\yournamehere\My Documents\Illarion\yourcharname), there are some ways to loose map.
1. You play from a different pc./You got a new hardrive.
Solution: Play from your own pc and/or transfer data with usb-stick or stuff.
2. You lost the data because of crash, virus, new windows, own fault etc.
Solution: Backup your data in future and try a data recovery tool.
3. Your machine looks in the wrong directory, whyever.
4. The map was not saved corectly. Only reason I can imagine is a client crash.
In this case just relog from time to time and/or try to fix the crash problem.

Sounds to me like he's saying it happens every time he logs out.
That seems strange. If that's what you mean, check your options, tick the log file and see if that works, try deleting your map data or something, maybe it's corrupt or check that your char folder isn't randomly in temporary internet files or somewhere . I've no idea though, I've never heard anything like that before.
