Ancient Book...

I recently got an ancient book (yay, first steps toward magery), but I'm having some trouble with it.
I got to where I learned the first bit of ancient, but now I can't seem to learn any more, and my ancient still sucks. I asked a friend (OOG) and she said her char learned most of the language in just two or three days with a book, and mine's not learning any. Is this normal? (We also compared int - my char's higher, wouldn't that mean I learn faster?)
Maybe I'm just doin it wrong.

Just wait a bit, your character needs some time to keep the language in mind

After some hours you should be able to read the second page
