A boy lost

Post by Tenebrous »

A smirk crossed the older elf's features as he watched the young elf struggle towards the swamps, blood already staining his blond hair. He knew there was no chance of him crossing the bridge, but it wouldn't hurt for the boy to try... and fail. Silently he watched the suffering, following as the boy grew weaker. As the young elf finally slumped to the ground, a hand reached down to roughly pull him upright by his leather choker. Tearing his possessions from him and flinging them into the river, the elf utters in an ancient tongue:

Time we started your lessons my young apprentice.

It had been hard days. But those were the bloody nights of the last month always. This time he had ventured too far, but that was okay. He had beaten his opponents and the wounds would heal.
Slowly the young elf dragged himself back to the Town, his wand served as a support that his strength had been used up.
Then he stumbled and fell. Just when the Blond one wanted to rise again he felt a hard grip on his white leather choker. Something or someone pulled him backwards.
Desperately, Tarias tried to defend himself against the attacker but the handle on his choker laced him from the air.
As the world grew dark around him, his last thought was of one person only. Would he see them again?

A few days later an Elfes again passes the bridge.
Pondering she hesitates and mumbles "This lack of care... strange..."

After a while she decides to examine the place a bit closer and then follow the riverbank downstream in order to look for more signs.

Nervously the halfling watched the elfess examining the riverbank. He knew she had seen the belongings he had not dared retrieve, but who was she? He had seen the two elves as he huddled behind Flori, petrified of the darkness and all the horrors of Mas around him. He witnessed the brief struggle and had not dare intervene as the older elf half dragged and half carried the elf north. Did she seek the young one or was she there on instruction of the elder? Perhaps if he kept busy and his head down she wouldn't notice him... anyway, he had to get Flori to work.

Once again he stared at the wall, what else could he do. No word, no action could change anything about this situation, not if it came from him.
And that was frustrating. Added to this was the very limited freedom of movement due to the chain.
It was more than physical restriction. For an elf like him who loved to walk through the woods was this a torment.

Sudden steps made caught his attention and his heart beat faster for a moment. But then he had to sobering notice that it was just one of those creatures that made the area around his jail unsafe.
Tarias had no idea which and he did not want to find out, not in his condition.

There were not only the injuries that still weakened him, but also the fact that he had been deprived of all his belongings.
He had nothing left but his pants and the hope that someone would notice his disappearance and look for him.

Returning from the mouth of the River without finding anything of relevance the elfes returns to the Bridge.
On passing it into the other direction she notices a cart with an ominous anxious halfling, whom she decides to question.

a bit later she heads north with well guarded steps and looking around anxiously.

The prisoner flinched as his fingers touched the wound. She still hurt and took time to heal. Unfortunately, his attempt to escape had led to her being torn up again and he now helplessly hung on the chain again.

And the environment was not very pleasant either. Of course he liked nature and the nighttime starry sky above him was beautiful.
However, this Place was rather disgusting. Whoever had lived here did not care about order and cleanliness.
Or it was the time and nature that made the place to what it was today.
Probably both.

A scratch from the other side made him flinch. These creatures made him nervous and constantly robbed his sleep. Not even the calming sound of the water helped.
After listening for a while, he sighed and let himself sink back, the chain ringing softly. He had to find some sleep.
Anyway, he could not do anything big, and his body needed all the strength to heal the wounds.

The elfes leaves the Runewick city hall on a day later, obviously frustrated and full of scorn.

She did deliver all she knew, but the answer was not quite what she expected.

After Falyame attended the town meeting of Runewick she looked after Mirai who sally out the room. She bowed her head and took leave to start the place where the belongings were found.

She scanned the place around a few times after she recognized Tarias belongings the first time. But there was no track. Now she got the information to head to the north. She found some blood spots who might came from Tarias but she wasn´t sure. She continues her tracking and reached the northern forest, where she were before without finding a sign of Tarias. So she struck a new path, a much more dangerous path....

Two persons hobbled along the bridge and reached finally the gates of Runewick. The town guards could recongnize the missing elf in the helping arms of Falyame. They reached finally the hospital of Runewick.
