Workshop:Emotes

Post by Achae Eanstray »

Whether day or night there is a sudden all consuming peace in the air, the birds are pleasantly singing though not loud. Resting from the current activities, eyes may close unknowingly as a smile crosses the face. There is a dream beginning that starts through the south gate, past the elf then directly north. A small halfling girl sits in the meadow occasionally plucking a blade of grass in her hand, twirling it around then letting it drop or blow away in the pleasant breeze. With no extraordinary features, plain clothes, nothing distinguishes her from other halflings but her expression. There is no emotion shown on her features which are surprisingly blank. In this dream, there are other people wandering toward the halfling though none recognizable, in fact, because it is a dream it is possible all have even forgotten who they are. Speaking a simple sentence gazing at each person in turn using a voice totally monotone conveying no feelings....

Something is missing, would you help?

As a group, people sit down next to the halfling for no known reason, being still a dream and why should dreams have any reason? They begin to figure out her problem which is obvious her voice and facial expression, or is it she simply can't express feelings? Perhaps giving her examples would help? Each person in the group takes turns moving closer and taking her hand while looking into her eyes then showing her different expressions, discussing the value of conveying feelings in an attempt to help her find something obviously lost. In this dream one may not bother to question why they are there...and when leaving possibly gain a little knowledge before they wake and go back to their usual lives.

(( This is the first workshop and will be on emotes. I would request for all that attend to do F12 until no names or numbers show on any chars keeping the "dream" atmosphere. Attempt as much as possible in-game at first then ooc questions at the end. Hopefully it will helpful for all. I plan one more at a later date if you can't make this one. Saturday Sept. 3rd 6PM CST or Midnight GMT ))

As all the people leave it is possible one or two look back at the halfling still sitting on the grass yet her expressions have transformed her face into someone completely different, one they now know better, feel comfortable with. Her form appears to become inconsequential as she gradually fades and somehow there is a feeling of satisfaction, or maybe completion as fairly soon only the grass blades pulled up near her is left.

(( Workshop is over, thank you. ))
