For home and family

Post by Morbius »

He had followed his older brother all the way to Albar, the only shred of family he had left. The only one he even slightly cared for, or showed some kind of respect to. He had become so cold. It seemed hate was the only thing they shared as brothers. Their only ties, it was somehow oddly comforting to his black heart. Apparently there was still hope for him, some shred of decency buried deep down. The arc of a soldier’s sword snapped him out of his thoughts and he dodges backwards with a growl. It took him less than a moment to remember where he was.

Cedric’s breathing was heavy, leaving him as cold clouds in the night air, his dark hair clinging to his forehead. He pressed himself back to back with his brother, taking a tighter grip on his hand and half blade as he growled a short order.

“Leon, take the two on your side, I’ll take the one on the right... then we rush that damn filthy mage.”

A grunt of agreement was all that his brother gave before either man charged in different directions. Cedric roared a battled cry as he neared the
single Albarian soldier, digging his sword deep through the man shoulder, twisting the blade before applying a solid kick to free the sword, and the rest of the man’s arm. Cedric grinned widely, his face bright with bloodlust as he spun on the spot and faced the flames bursting in his direction.

Leon had quickly separated the two other soldiers from most of their limbs, and rushed in the direction of his final kill, seeing his brother already joining him in the charge. A sickening scream cut through the darkness as both brothers and their blades found the spell weaver’s stomach. They pulled their blades in either direction, and out through the sides of the mage with a synchronised motion, splattering crimson gore across the ground. It had been a long evening of killing for both men, but they would not rest until all who had destroyed their home. Those who had destroyed their family, their life... knew the same suffering that they had. The night was still young, both men had clung to their hatred for so many years; it was time to free themselves of it, once and for all.
