Life's Crossroad [[closed]]

Post by Shessidyr »

It was night, the bright moonlight shined from behind the dark autumn-clouds which appeared to soon water the land once again.
It was the frame of a skinny woman who dragged her heavy, stumbling steps slowly over the land of the grey rose to reach the stony bridge.
Drops of deep red blood dripped down to splash on the bridge, leaving marks all over as the hot liquid kept oozing out from between her fingers, the blood covered hand firmly pressed against the left injured waist, the silvery chain shirt bearing a large cut as it was almost sliced off with crude violence.
It must have been her strong will who lead her here.
The strong will of life... her messed up life; her leather covered feet now stumbled forward to set foot on the ground of northbridge.
Her fiery red hair hung in heavy locks from her head, soaked with sweat and half-covering her pain-glazed face.
Every breath that filled her lungs sent lightnings of pain down her spine and made a sharp hiss leave her throat.
The weak legs dragged her closer toward the huge mansion, not stopping once as the sight and dim light from one of its windows made clear that help was close; too close to just give up now.
That was the moment were she grit her teeth together, one trembling hand reached out to touch the corner of the house before she pulled herself closer with a dull moan to lean the side of her skinny frame against the wall, with exhausted steps and despaired gasps and snarls continuing her way towards the double-doors as she rubbed herself along the house-wall.
A scratching and a jingling noise flared up as stone met chain shirt.
Having reached the doors she didn't hesitate but used the last resource of her strength and knocked the door in one last loud and despaired try to get the attention she was searching... hoping for.
But then her gaunt and weak body suddenly slumped in front of the house, the exhaustion too big and the hot pain too much to endure.
The bloody liquid oozing out of the deep cut, dampening her skirt.
Possible, that it was just a matter of time until the last breath of life simply vanished but her hope was still alive, so alive like weeks ago as she had spent almost every day around the house with the hope to see him.
He was the only help she could think of.
A dangerous way of thinking.

Slowly the letters start to blur. A clear sign for it was about time to put the book aside and get some sleep. She was just about to feed the oven with some logs for the night as some strange sounds outside caught her attention. Just an imagination? Sometimes it could get a little bit creepy, all alone at the mansion, especially at night. Neither Ashayen nor Edward had been around since the day, she ran into Ashayen in Troll Bane and found her way back into her life around here, away from the streets. She still wondered about Edwards face when he might see her being back again.

But for now, she was all alone at home, eavesdropping carefully. There certainly was something outside. The sound of metal scratching on the stone wall. What was that? Did she really want to know? Slowly she raises, her eyes fixed on the kitchen window but unable to make something out in the darkness. What to do now? The door was locked so nothing to fear there, right? She just shook her head as if trying to get rid of the thought as the knocking sound made her wince all sudden.

Somebody at the door? That late at night? She swallowed lightly as she steps towards the door then a thought crossed her mind. Even if she wanted to open up, she didn’t even have a key after all. She climbs on her bed, peeking out of the window next to the door to catch a sight. She couldn’t recognize much in the dim falling through the window, but enough to notice the collapsed body in front the door and her eyes grew wide.

Forgotten was the creepy atmosphere. Somebody was laying out there and obviously in need of help. What to do? She looked around for a moment, before simply opening the window, climbing on the frame and jumping out, barefooted as she was. Carefully she kneeled down next to the woman. “Can… can you here me?”, she asked carefully, her eyes widen once more, gasping as she notices the bloody trail. What to do?! Her thoughts started to run in circles…

The noises from inside the house were barely audible, yet they managed to reach her ears.
An illusion?
The bruised body of the fiery-haired woman was slumped back against one door and didn't show any reaction as suddenly a thud appeared to her left, 'caused by the other woman's feet which hit the ground as she jumped from the window frame.
Shessidyr suddenly tilted her head toward the woman's voice, sweaty locks of hair sticked on the equally sweaty skin of her bruised face.
Who the heck was that gal now?
It was a blur image to her sea-green eyes as she tried to measure the woman, her ragged breathing broke the silence before she tried to give an answer, with not much effect as she had no strength in her voice.
She pressed the bloody hand more firmly against the pulsing wound, grunting low as a new wave of pain flashed her body and one trembling hand reached up, the fingers snatching roughly for the cloth of the woman's shirt to pull her closer, a hoarse, despaired sounding whisper leaving her cracked lips "The... L-Lord... p-please... Ed-Edward."

Suddenly pulled off her circling thoughts, the young woman bent down to the injured redhead as she pulled her down. The words were hard to understand but a surprised gasp left her lips. Who the heck was that woman?! And why did she ask for Edward?? Especially in such a condition? So many questions but there was no time for such things now! Even to her untrained eyes it was a clear fact that there was no time to loose. This woman needed help, quickly and she wasn’t able to do anything.

“Hang on!” It was more a whisper as she allready arose, pulling herself up to the window frame to get inside again. Leaving dirty footprints on her bed she headed towards the kitchen. She had to get help and there was only one person she could think of. No time to search for a parchment, she just ripped a page out of her diary, hastily scribbling some words, before rolling it together, bending it on a dove's leg and release the bird quickly out of the window.

Ashayen,

No time for many explanations.
There a badly injured woman right in front of the door.
Obviously lost a lot of blood.
I can’t do anything for her here alone.
Please hurry!

She allready wanted to jump out of the window again, as her gaze shifts over to the kitchen table ones more. Quickly, and without really thinking about it, she releases another dove out in the night. Right on the bird’s leg yet another page ripped out of her diary. As the first one, it also stays unsigned. Who thinks of such details in such a situation?

Edward,

There’s a badly injured woman in front of the house, calling for you.
Hurry, as I can’t do anything for her.

The kitchen window closed again, she ran towards the other open window, climbing onto her bed and jumping out again. She kneeled down next to the woman again; mad on herself for being so helpless and unable to help at all. “Help’s on the way…”, she said, trying to sound confident… at least she hoped so.
