Home, Sweet Home((Open RP, Orcs & Goblins only))

Post by Orc Nation »

((The following all occurs within the Orc Cave. Orcs and Goblin slaves only please))

Ever since she can remember, her aunts and uncles cared for and loved her. Playing games with bones, chasing the Goblin slaves around the cave, Tales of War and Battle by the fireside. Little Nara remembered all the good times, all the bad and in between.

When asked about her mother, Uncle Rugh would tell her tales of Valor and conquest against the Dwarves, about how they even had the Queen of the Dwarves surrender and offer tribute. Her mother was a part of that. Ol'Vash, they called her and she was beautiful. Nara had never known her mother, being separated from her while very young, but she was a big girl now, almost seven!

The Cavern she chose to sit in was strewn with Furs and bones on the ground, surrounding a fire-pit; cold now, but ready for tonight's fire. She was remembering about what her Uncle had said about her mother when one of her Uncle's came into the cavern.

"Nara" he said, "Why Joo here alone?"

"Nubbin Uncle" she said, "Jus 'memberin' mama"

She looked at the fur in front of her, and a reed-dollie was there. She picked up her doll and hugged it, a single tear peeking through her eyelid.

Feeling a little empathetic, Uncle looked at her and sighed. "Joo know it's no gud to sit by self and think ob such dings," he said. "Come, lets play Hide an' seek! Meh counts....1....2...3...."

Smiling ear to ear, she rushes to find a perfect hiding spot. She giggles as she runs past Uncle and down the cavern tunnel. Lit only by a few torches, shadows dance across the floor as she runs down the tunnel and seeks a few well-placed alcoves. She finds one and hides within. Hugging her Doll made of reeds, she waits to see if Uncle will come find her.

A long time past, since Murgo arrived on the isle. In the last years his mind and appearance changed. He was a young powerfull warrior with a lot stupid ideas in his head. Then he joined the group of orcs arround Rugh'toh, the shaman Grakir and Rogruk. They teached him to be a strong and honorable orc. And he becames a well respected member of the clan. Al lot of adventures had to pass, with his family, the clan. He became the Clanfather of the Woman Ol'vash. He choosed the name, for his thougther. But now she is gone, Murgo never conceived the whole circumstances but it was not a friendly storry. One time, Murgo asked the chief for her. "She dead for us nuw, Murgo. Nub think ob 'er, she be betrayer."

Nara should never her such a sentence. The whole Clan wouldn't speak about her anymore. But who is left to remember about Ol'vash? Murgo didn't saw Rugh or Rogruk or Grakir since months. When they will come back? So was Murgo one of a few in the cave who could remember about Naras mother. He feels liabel for Nara. And now he remembers another trick, teachend by the smart and great Rugh'toh.

One (beer), Two (beer), Tree (beer)...
Murgo had allways proplems with this number-stuff. Usually he looks how big the bunch of somthing is. So he fall into silence and remebers a minute about the admission-celebration of Ol'vash. Then he breaths deeply and stands up.

"Meb commin! Yo reedy?" he yelled. But nobody answered. This Hide an' seek -game, was really tricky.

Nara was ginning and hugging her dollie as she heard sounds from the tunnel "Meb commin, Yo ready?" She giggled softly to herself as she knew Uncle Murgo was never very good at this game, but it was fun.

She could hear his footsteps growing louder in the tunnel. She hunched herself closer to a shadow within the alcove and froze. One of the goblins had told her once, that Prey should always freeze and play 'dead' to survive. It always worked for Hide & Seek.

The steps grew louder, shuffled a little as if looking, and then seemed to grow softer. Curious, she stood up and peeked around the corner.

"Aarrgghhh!" Uncle Murgo was right there! With a grin, Murgo grabs at Nara and tickles her. "Meh found joo!"

"Ah hah ha hah ah hah!" Nara laughs as Uncle Murgo tickles her. The giggles subside as she clutches her dollie.

"Dat was fun, do again! do again!" she demanded, jumping a little.

Murgo sighs, thinking of something else they could do. Maybe chase the goblin, play Bones or visit Father's shrine. Hmmm.....

"Har, Har! Joo, dath was fun, wasn't it littl Nara?" , Murgo grunted. "But hu, wich way in this Bone-game worked, again?"

He asked it in a way, a teacher would ask his student, but usually he can't remeber about the rules, at the moment. He smiles kindly at her and hopes she remembers. Yes, she was smart like her mother.

Chuckling, she pulls at a little pouch at her belt and opens it, peering inside.

She pulls out a set of Rabbit bones and lays then down on the floor of the tunnel. Then she pulls out a small wooden ball and lays it next to the bones.

"Joo got to bouce da ball, and see how many bones joo can pick up before it hits da ground."

This was a game that trained high agility among the Orcs, but Nara found another way to win the game. Most Orcs Grabbed as many bones as they could with two hands, usually spilling them too. Yes, they were fast, but Nara preferred a more precise approach. She would usually use one hand, and pick the bones up one by one with her fingers, dropping none of them. This worked more on her dexterity of fingers, than agility of 'grabs'. She wasn't winning every time yet, but that's what made the game challenging.

She held the ball to Uncle Murgo. "Joo Bounce da Ball and Grab first."

Smiling sweetly, Nara waited until Murgo dropped the ball.
