Departure

((Closed RP, PM me or Irania if you want in))

He walked across the board leading onto the ship, slowly and carefully. He was holding Q'arneire, who was terrified of water.
'Thank the Five that the water is calm,' Mattin thought to himself.
When he reached the ship, Mattin immediately went below decks to the cabin he had paid the captain for earlier. It was bare, holding only two narrow cots, a stool, and a lot table.
Gently lowering Q'arneire onto one cot, he murmured "You can open your eyes now, Sweet." With those words, Mattin sat down beside her and gently brushed the hair from in front of her face.
"We should only be on here for a day or so. Then, we'll be in Koldamar. I think we should go south this time since the weather is getting colder."
Sighing tiredly, he laid back beside her, placing his arm around her.

After being carefully escorted onto the ship by Mattin and coming to rest on the bed, Q'arneire peered warily around the small room. The bed was not build for two, that was obvious, and the rest of the cabins contents appeared old and not very well cared for. This if course did not matter at all to her. She merely sat stiffly beside Mattin and whispered.

"Bad water...bad water...gonna get us..." She shifted further onto the bed and continued her inane muttering, "Make us like her...bad water." So to shut out her fear, she closed her eyes and rested her head down, feigning dead as she had done so many times when she was afraid. This soon led to sleep.

Nearly a Dwarvin week later, Mattin and Q'arneire were making their way to Gobiath again. They would arrive there in about a week.

After quite a few days had been spent teacher her, Q'arneire could ride a horse by herself without falling at every step. Still, he rode beside her to catch her if she sliped. He tried kept an eye on her often.

Rubing at a cut on his chest, he spoke, "What are you so intent on?" She had something in her hands, but he couldnt quite see.

Q'arneire looked back at Mattin with her usual blank expression and distant eyes, as though she isn't really all there.

"Go ahead, show him." She spoke aloud.

"We found it." She held up something small and fur covered. It was a dead mouse. "We will give it a name." She smiled and covered it in her hands again. "Don't want it to get away..."
