Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Sometimes killing a mummy will add one to the quest update message, sometimes it won't. I'm totally confused. Is there a specific kind of mummy I need to kill?
Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
We have different kinds of each monster, which have each there own ID. For instance, Rotten Mummy, Smelly Mummy, etc. If the developer of the quest included only one ID, all the others will be ignored. Please report it at mantis so that we can improve the quality of our quests. Thank you.

Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Right, and include the quest name and the NPC who gave you the quest.
Actually, since all "kill monsters quest" were written by me, I am the one to blame. I did not know that certain monsters are just coloured mummies, those who are called "Mummy" count in any case. I hope I fixed the main issues already (next patch), but if anything remains, tell me via Mantis.
One thing to add; I'll update the monsters spawns anytime soon so confusing situations like this won't occur anymore.

I'm in class so I can't check right now, but I think it's the very first quest new players that go to Cadomyr stumble on. The orc with a ladder next to him. You gotta cleanse the tomb of the dirty mummies. I think I killed 30 and only got 5/10 yet. ;/ Very frustrating for a "new" player.

Keeping track of the count you get a message that you have so and so left to kill. Seeing the name Cherga's servant vs mummy and no message then getting a message with one labeled mummy IMO is not that hard. Perhaps instead of changing the entire thing simply have the orc advise.. make sure it is just a mummy and not a servant?
Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Juliana, I've killed "Mummified slave" and didn't get +1.
I've killed "Rotten Mummy" and didn't get +1.
I have no clue what to kill anymore.

Kill the one named simply "mummy". Only those count until the next patch.

I have had to log out.. talk to the orc again and log back in to get the "kill" count. It seems it is easily lost. Perhaps it is more a bug.

That's why I gave up on it after realizing it was only the ones named "mummy" that gave you kills. Waiting for that patch.Karl wrote:So one in fifty?Qeewee wrote:Kill the one named simply "mummy". Only those count until the next patch.

Still not fixed?
Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Did you make a mantis task?
Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Nope, I find it really unpleasant to use.

Then send me a PM. Please include:
Last date when you reproduced the bug (if before 01/20/2013: Please reproduce the bug first)
The quest title
The NPC that gave you the quest
The name of the monsters you did not get a "+1" for
The exact location where you killed the monster (say !what in the client)
Action you did to kill the monster (attacking?)
I can only recommend that you get used to Mantis. It is as easy to use as this forum and bugs should not be posted on the forum.

Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
I legitimately think it would have been easier for a staff to test this with some super weapon that instantly kills mummies. But I've gone ahead and slugged through the quest, here are the results.

Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
Fixed with next patch. With a Mantis report, this would have been fixed long ago because I worked on a similar bug recently.
Please do not report bugs on the forum, use mantis instead: http://illarion.org/mantis/

Re: Which mummies to kill for the quest?
I promise I'll try, but I can't promise. It's an added hassle a lot of players won't have the patience to deal with, as bad as this may sound.
Perhaps a "bug reports" board with a specific individual tasked with converting threads posted there into Mantis reports? Just a suggestions.
Thanks for fixing, good luck!
