Why are certain age ranges blocked?

Post by 1d20 »

Hi,

I was wondering, why are age ranges -18 and 80+ blocked? Why can't characters be children/teenagers or extremely old?

childs: in the past it was possible to play children, but mostly they was played extrem bad like fearless and strong as an superhero or like an disney princess. On the other hand we wand avoid absolut any option for pädophilie.

seniors: well 80 is exttremly old for an medival/fantasy word without modern medicin the most people would die between 50 and 60

No thanks to the idea of people who are magically immortal straight off the bat, Qeewee. Right up there with werewolves, half-demons and catgirls.

80 is the max age of characters in illa. Once they become 81 they die of old age and the char is deleted.

Just kidding.

Absolut no. magic can heal a wound (or better, magic was abeal to heal a wound in the past :D) but neigther a tumor or a cerebral appoplexy, nor a virus or bacillus infection. high-end-ritual magic isnt something common what can use any farmer.

If you want play a very old char, play an elf ;p

One thing to add: Not medicine decides how long your life lasts. If you ever drank one of Merung's potions, you'd know that this boozes won't expand your lifespan :-P. Seriously; Cherga decides when it is time for you to leave the stage. This is beyond the influence of the mortals. Get PKed and you will find out...

And yes, 80 is extremely old for a human. IRL, during medieval times (they had alchemy as well ;-)), your lifespan expectations was like 35-60 depending on your social status. If you survived childhood that is, 60% of all children died before coming of age.

On childs, Dji wrote it all. No children characters anymore, teenage ninja heroes with blue hair aren't illarionish, anyway.
