Is it alright to open up Illa? It does use java, and I think it may still have that gimmick with leaks...
is it safe? People are on, so I'm assuming so, but I just want a confirmation.

Re: Safe!
The recent vulnerability of Java has nothing to do with Illarion. First off, it is a vulnerability of Java, not Illarion . Secondly, it only affected java applets, Illarion is not an applet. Furthermore, Java is a piece of software that runs on your computer and the Illarion e.V. has absolutely no influence on your computer . So, updating Java on your computer is nothing the Illarion staff can do.
It is recommended to update Java, be it version 6 or 7, to the latest update immediatly because of said vulnerability. But again, this has nothing to do with Illarion but with other "things" that you may encounter with your browser in the internet.
