Skills issue with first characther

Just curious about a minor bug,
I've noticed that since my first character (Ryun) was sent to the "rookie" island to educate "me" about how to handle basic interaction, control and function etc.
while when i left the island i got the items for the character as per preset on "Mage" but none of the skills which applies with the pre-set mage.

although to test this i made a second mage character, that went straight to troll-bane instead of the "rookie" island, and he had all the skills mentioned previously at character creation.

seems there's a minor glitch in that regard.

my question: will the lack of the mage skills affect my characters potential as mage in the future? aka are all those skills taught automatically when he acquires/starts training with a rune?

The skills will not effect your potential. Your char will learn everything he needs quite fast as soon as he gets his first rune .

now its just the univ exams that's making me worry
