if it makes you feel any better, I'm not aloud to use the Fender HOTROD Deluxe, instead my amp is a Fender Champ 30 DSP and a 5w Epiphone mini amp that has such a ridiculously crunchy overdrive I use it at the bandstand in the park so I don't have to pay hydro tax when I perform (9v batteries win) :/

It doesnt matter a what guitar you have, it only matters how you execute the playing skills. Mine is greenish yellow atm.
If it don't sound good with the amp off, then it don't sound good at all.

This is true to an extent, if say you have a practice amp and an Epiphone SG, and a concert level amp with a Gibson SG Signature Series, and you can play well, you will notice many things about the sound produced by the cheaper electronics, unless of course your fuzzman, the king of feedback and unillegable noise.

A guitar with cheaper electronics will not sound as clean as one with more expensive electronics. I also noticed a distinct differance between the fender neck and the burswood neck, first in tone and secondly the burswood neck is much less speedier then the fender neck.

If you can play well, then it doesen't matter what guitar you have, so long as it sounds clean enough. But if your going to actually perform or get together veteran musicians, you probably don't want to say "yeah, my guitar is yellowish and I got it at a pawn shop for a twenty"

Seeing a big talk about guitars I couldn't resist to give my two cents. I love guitar!

Well crafted guitars also have great action (ie: the strings are as close to the fretboard without bussing) making them easier to play. They are also often so well built that they go out of tune less easily (if you get something really top end). All nuances though, and a great musician would be able to play much better on a piece of crap than an average musician on a deluxe fender strat (which I have, woot :D )

ps. a 72 tele, SWEET

pps.

Nah, rather because it's the most popular guitar.

On the trip of our school's big band, every guitar I've seen was a strat. And there were about 10 different guitarists.

That's more why I've got this "aah! not another strat!" feeling by now

I don't disagree that playing ability is reflected in expensive guitars, I myself am nowhere near perfect. However, good equipment goes a long way in sounding well. Well branded strings, Good guitars, Good pickups and decent amplification and if applicable, effects pedals will craft sound better.

After all, most electric guitars sound roughly the same unplugged, the electronics are where the sound comes from. But if you play like crap, you will still sound like crap.

I learned to play on some stratocaster copy, a yamaha or something I think. Once I became decent and also inherited my Stratocaster custom and '72 Tele custom, I noticed an immediate change in sound and how much easier it was to play cleanly.

I know, right?

DOB: May, 17, 1993
POB: United States (California)

Ocupation: Student
Interests&hobbys: Listening to music, singing, and I dabble in drums, bass, and guitar. I'm always taking my band member's instruments from 'em. :D Oh. Right. Jamming with my band (metal, not black, or death, just metal) would have to be a hobby... er, reading, writing (mostly horror).

Favorite music: Straight rock, such as the classics (the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton), Pink Floyd, Metallica, and System of a Down. Other than that, I haven't really found anymore music that can keep me occupied, other than various metal and classical tunes on the radio.

I need a camera. I noticed that sending pictures with my phone costs an obscene amount of money.

I'm fairly new to this game even though I joined in 08, but since then I've made new characters, the others (if I can remember) were DELETED :( ...

PO: Daen Farren - my fellow man for now (Lucas Murphy - still not played with him, but he will soon be in action and soon to come, Sophia Thorn)

Real Name: Michael Durkiewicz

DOB: 1990

Hometown: Manchester, UK

Hobbies: playing RPGs (that have a meaning and are worth playing e.g. Illarion being No.1) and war games (whole CoD series apart from 3, DoDS and Wolfenstein ET), PLAYING MY GUITAR (well also the piano, bass and drums occasionally too, but it's all about the guitar) and most things relating to music and creative writing (that's why I love fantasy stuff and RP)

Musical Interests: Has to be pretty much most metal categories ranging from bands such as 'talliwaka and the irons (Metallica and Iron Maiden) to Children of Bodom, Diablo, Angra etc etc etc. I also love (because of guitar) the music of Paul Gilbert, Kikou Loureiro, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Gustavo Guerra, Michael Romeo, Joe Satriani and I could go on forever with those.

Now for some pictures I guess:

That's a fairly poor one, but it's recent...

and last but not least an old picture of when I got my old-ish Ibanez Iceman ICX220DX discontinued model, however it's been cleaned and perfectly fitted for me since then and it's got a Seymour Duncan TB-10 Full Shred (bridge) and Dimarzio PAF Pro (neck)

Unfortunately that's the only guitar picture I have, which is lame... I'll get some more some other time
