The other language is German. We English-speaking players are very fortunate that the game designers and administrators have worked so very hard at translating everything to English, otherwise the majority of us would have missed becoming part of Illarion. :D

It doesn´t matter for english speaking people, cause most of us here are speaking english.
A little bit strange. Is there a native english(wo)man who is speaking a little bit german?

Mishrack?

I don´t think that this is strange, because we can´t compare both cases.
We learn english in school, native English Speaker in general not.

Paul, belive me sometimes your motherlanguage English appears to be more "gribberish" than any other language in the word.

It all depends on the writer.

Sir Giandor,

Heute lerne ich den deutsch, aber ich nicht gewandt. Ich kann es immerhin versuchen. Fieps ist richt. Kaum lernen wie die Sprache im Schule. Englisch ist schwer fur viele Amerikans.

Viola ~ happy that she can speak a little, albeit poor, German.

To all those poor germans (like me) that don´t know the word gibberish, gibberish is Kauderwelsch in deutsch.

After reading this small discussion, maybe it would be quiet suitable to create a little dictionary of common "Illarion-words", like library, forge, anvil, demon ... so that english speaking people would get a general idea what´s a ingame conversation in german is all about.

I know that many english speaking people are quiet upset about the fact that some people are speaking only german ingame, but remember, if adressed in a nice way, most german players can speak english as well. Remember, it´s not our mother tongue. But sometimes, when I´m reading posts of our american fellow players, I... erm... maybe I should stop writing.

Yours Belegi

What for a language has your Board yet?

You understand English, right? So why don´t you change the language in your "Profil"?

Ingame are all languages allowed, but i think you can imagine, that it give not many persons, which will understand for example russian.
But you can speak it ;-)

Grant you must write it Gruesse.

But it give many ways to write that word, and its always the same

Grüsse
Grüße
Gruesse
Grueße

always the same, because ss = ß and , ue = ü, but a english keyboard doesn´t have ß and ü, or?

But yes, Gruesse means greetings.

Heres what I did so I could do business with german players: write down all the items you want to talk about in english, then go to a translator and write the translations next to them. Then just plug them in. Might sound primitive to a native german, but they will probobly understand what you mean to say.

I see here no problem Grobul, and it´s not primitive, a few germans done the same with english items.

And if you then know the words Verkaufe= sell, Kaufe = Buy, you can good scream for example Kaufe Eisen! ( buy iron ) *g*
