Advent Riddle / Weihachtsrätsel

Post by Banduk »

„Winter is coming!“
That might be right for higher region or GoT but here I’m not so sure. But for sure Christmas is coming soon. And you may find everywhere advent calendars. Why there is nothing for Illarion?
One could blame mister Anybody for not having such an item or simply do it. I chose the second option.

You can find the calendar at the following address: http://www.ol-mittelfranken.bplaced.de/ ... /index.htm
Every day late evening I’ll upload a new picture from my walk in Illarion. Hope I’ll not leave Illa before the end or I find it boring.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
„Winter is coming!“
Man könnte jetzt Herrn Irgendwer dafür anpflaumen oder selber was tun.

Nun, my first post was in one point not perfect right. This is not a Christmas Calendar. It is a Christmas Riddle!

I intentionally mixed up the pictures and it is your task to find out, what picture is related to what position on the map.
I used very small cutouts with a few characteristic details. You wouldn’t like it if it was too simple. One day later I’ll provide for each small cutout the larger screenshot. That should be enough. And for everybody who is blindfolded I publish a solution after christmas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
;-)

Note for staff: I have to upload a new picture every day. This is not possible, if the calendar is integrated into the Illarion webpage. Once Christmas is over, I can add the calendar to the Fanart page so it will not be lost.

Very nice :) That's a great idea.

PS: I think this deserves a place in the general forum

Move it, I cannot do.
And nice is something else, the code is more than terrible.

By the way, This is just a spin-off from the orienteering calendar I make now the 8th year. http://www.ol-mittelfranken.bplaced.de/index.htm

Sorry, I'm a little bit RL stressed and uploaded yesterday the pictures from the previous day a second time.

Now the Christmas Riddle is back synchronized with the RL calendar.

Finished. / Fertig
I uploaded the last picture a few seconds ago. / Das letzte Bild ist online.

I'm curious if there is someone who could say one the following:
  • Pah, it was easy. I was every day sure where the small picture belongs to.
Kein Problem.
  • To difficult, even with the big pictures I have for some days no clue where it could be.

And here is the solution

1st columns: Station
2nd column: Contains picture from station
3rd column: My hints
1 23 Let's start easy, the tavern in Cadomyr.
2 15 There are a lot of wells, but this is a well in a forest, very far south-east
3 19 Dead dark stony land
4 13 Chicken on a meadow, you must have seen that!
5 24 Rocks and a palm tree
6 4 Cold - colder - got it!
7 10 Graveyard - dead land?
8 6 Doesn't looks like a town wall, but it's a wall
9 3 A fountain in the wilderness
10 12 Lava - volcanoe
11 16 Ship - harbor
12 5 Impassable pine forest
13 22 What do we don't have yet?
14 8 Cliff in swamp
15 20 Firewall
16 2 A dark hole
17 17 A holy tree
18 9 LSD forest
19 21 Sand and dead tree - must be the desert
20 1 A chest close to stony building with lanterns
21 11 A cave entry close to an often used road
22 14 Looks familiar for Runewickan and their visitors
23 18 A rock wall with a gate
24 7 A barrel next to an altar

In the most cases I tried to take a picture with some characteristics of the region. In some cases there were multiple solutions with the first published picture but later the hints are more direct. Especially the second station becomes more clear with the time.
