A wee question

Post by Po Will »

I'm guessing - what, with the whole magic system out of play -, priest magic will be even further off now; or dropped completely? Any information would be grand, swell and braw. :)

Although right now we are more concerned with fixing the current problems, when in the future we look at the magic system, we will think of its role in relation to a priest system, which offers a different kind of magic to complement normal magic.

Can't make any promises right now because we're not delving deeper into it at all until we're further ahead, but it may well be that they get released around the same time.

Again - no promises, don't take that as an official statement.

Actually you can already become a devotee of any younger god (lookat the altars for more information and use it to become a devotee). If you gather a congregation you could become a priest, but this is deactivated for now.
Being a devotee will also have some effects, e.g. visible at player lookat, but currently it has no effect other than... being a devotee.

So the same effect as IRL, quite realistic, eh? :-P

On the question: The roadmap says we will fix bugs first. There are quite a number left but every day, they get less and less. Then, most probably, the next large thing to do is magic but this is not fixed yet. In any case: I will take a stand for implementing arcane magic and priest magic with regard to each other so we don't have to redo arcane magic again if priest magic comes. Also, both magic systems should share some code so we don't have to start from scratch again and again.

And what exactly does that look like... or say? My orc is currently devoted to none other than *hold your breath* Iromorom!

That of course is a joke he is devoted to Moshran.

It isn't showing anything yet, since it is not finished. But at some point in time, it will be shown in the lookat.

Yeah, they toss some chunks of vegetarians into a bowl and boil it.
Here you see an example of said soup.
