Hello everyone! Can you keep a secret? The CM Team has a mission for you.

Here’s the plan:

* Make a new, secret character. (The secret part is key.)
* Starting on Monday 10th of January get in game and head to Troll’s Bane with your new, secret character.
* Roleplay with everyone you meet.
* On Monday 1/24, everyone will reveal their new, secret identities. (Before that don’t ask, don’t tell!)



We’d like to see a variety of races, so let those creative ideas flow!

If combat is necessary for any characters, we’d ideally like to see that roleplayed rather than using the engine combat system. A dice roll or coin toss could be used to determine a victor if needed, or simply agree oocly.

This event is not restricted to Troll’s Bane, but as the center of activity it’s the best starting point.

Feel free to keep playing your characters after the reveal if you want.


We can’t wait to see old friends in a new light and maybe make some new friends too. If you have any questions/comments/complaints feel free to PM your favorite CM. We'll see you in game!

I may or may not join in, depending on whether I finish this assignment. Brilliant idea though.

Since this is before the VBU and only going to last a week, what about allowing fairies, goblins and gnomes too? Would let people have the chance to RP those too before the possibility of having player characters with those races go away.

I have this odd feeling that we will get an influx of 'shady' characters in Bane from this... should be fun!

Just the standard six choices: human, elf, orc, halfling, dwarf, lizardman.

When he is to remove those slots, how will he see which character is the temporary one? Will he wait until we tell who it is on this topic, expect us to remove them ourselves or? *asks anyone who might know*

probably the character that was last created.

All characters will remain. So its possible that you have 6 characters but just 5 character slots. Just in case you ever want to create a new character in future you have to delete 2 chars then to get a free slot again then.

Character profiles,
Giving a description is helpful to those you wish to interact with.
Giving a back story shows you care about Rping.
Searching for a picture to go with your profile is an added bonus.
Doing all of these, lets us know you are into the game.
Just choosing a name and making the stats is not making a character.
Then actually Rp with others instead of trying to get skilled as fast as you can.
Also, lets take an effort to rate the new profiles.
Here is how I do it,
1 point for each..
picture, description, story.
1 more if they do all three.
1 point more for each if they are good.
That makes seven.
1 for an effort at translation, it helps if I can read them. Now we are up to eight.
Exceptional work may get a point or two.
I am looking forward to seeing all the new characters. Maybe some will then become old characters.

Well, it is maybe helpful but for sure not an obligation. A short small description with one ore two #mes is better than 2 pages msot will never read.

Tis IS making a character. If someone wants to know the story of my char, he has to find it out ig. What happend to your char before he got to Gobaith is jut for yourself important. Thinking carfeully about it is enough. And what happens on the Island is always better to be told IG, in my opinon.

If you enjoy making a good profile, it is fine and you are free to write as much as you want to. But it sounds a bit as you see it nearly as an obligation for good RP. But the truht is, I'll put it in the words of the Dude, "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."

I've been playing illarion for 5 and a half years. Only one of my characters has a profile, and its only because this guy made me an awesome picture. If people want to know about my char, they can FOIG.

Except for the super secret 10/10 - 5 votes profile I got with my halfling, that "secret-char" action didn't look like a success to me (maybe there should have been something questish to assemble those new peeps in one place or something), didn't notice that many unknown characters. Then again I cannot be bothered to run around IG to find people for more than a few minutes.

I do have to say well played... had a great time being the hand hold for Boggle. he was a good well thought out character. Though Raina wanted to kill him after he puked on the table and messed her hair up.
