I know, I've said, that this thread is not for statements, but I just want to say someting to one feature I read serveral times an the "Wished feature list"

It depends "childs-characters".

There is a good reason, that the ingame limit for charakters is on 14 years. Chars, who rped a younger age becomes banned.

The most important reason why we don't accept (and will never accept) child-chars by players is to explain with a few words:

child pornography or other cruelties

We cannot control each child-char-players to every time and have no control about, what they do with them.
In theorie they can use them for pornographik rp, or rp that they torture them or other insane things.
Sure, we cannot prevent, that such deranged people make normal chars and just rp "childs" which becomes abused. But we do not support such fantasys with proper char-graphics.
Children a very sensitive topic in our society, so we hope of your understanding of our decision.

Please don't answer or discuss in this topic. If you have any questions or statements you can reach me in ICQ, MSN and, when I get my IRC starting again, in the #illarion channel too.

~Kadiya~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ich weiß, dass ich gesagt habe hier sollen keine Antworten oder Statements gepostet werden, aber ich möchte kurz etwas zu einer Sache erläutern, die ich nun schon mehrfach auf der "Feature-Wunsch-Liste" gesehen haben
Es betrifft die sog. "Kinderchars".
Es gibt einen sehr guten Grund, warum das Mindestalter für Charaktere bei 14 Jahren liegt und charaktere, die ein jüngeres alter rpn gesperrt werden.
Der wichtigste Grund, warum wir keine Kinderchars akzeptieren (und wohl auch nie akzeptieren werden) ist mit ein paar Worten erklärt:
Kinderpornografie oder auch andere Gewalttaten
Wir können einfach nicht jeden Kinderchar überwachen um zu verhindern, dass sein Spieler irgendwelches krankes rp mit ihm macht.
Theoretisch kann er ihn jederzeit für pornographisches rp einsetzen, ihn Foltern, töten oder sonst wie quälen.
Sicher, wir können natürlich nicht verhindern, dass sich so jemand einen normalen Char macht und einfach ein Kind rped. Aber wir werden solche Fantasy sicherlich nicht auch noch mit passenden Grafiken unterstützen.
Kinder sind ein sehr sensilbes und öffentlichkeitswirksames Thema, von daher hoffe ich, dass diese Entscheidung verstanden und akzeptiert wird.
Bitte tut mir einen Gefallen und antwortet nicht hier. Wenn ihr Fragen oder Meinungen dazu habt könnt ich mich im ICQ, im Msn und, wenn ich es wieder zum laufen bekommen habe, auch im IRC erreichen.
Firstly, there is a bug that when you scroll over another char or similarly npc besides yourself, when cursor is left over them it states "This is you".
It really isn't... Here we go.
1. Not being able to pull or push yourself/ emote when you are a ghost.
2. Magic teaching is way out of sink!
3. Magic is too overpowered with even the beginner enemy npcs!
4. Distance weapons ineffective!
5. Lack of planned quests/storylines! I'de love to become a quester!
6. Lack of merchant npc's! Put it this way, why can't there be a merchant who sells cheap swords and armors, and another across the isle who is more tailored and sells really expensive ones? I'm just sayin. Crafters are usually to busy pg'ing.
7. I miss the rumour thread!
8. I miss discussions on town boards!
9. I miss some of the old client graphics! We need more npc graphics!
10. I can't wait until the paper dolling system if I am honest with you!
11. I can't be bothered thinking of any more!
My few pennies:
Most annoying bugs
  • Top 1: Full bag bug, it’s annoying when gathering herbs, always having to be careful not to pick too many, can it not just give a warning?
    Top 2: Question marks in landscape
    Top 3: Disappearing of characters, sometimes I can hear them, but not see them.
Most inbalanced features
  • Top 1: Crafting system/Skill raising, it just takes too long before new options become available. Either skilling should be quicker, or more options should be given at lower skills.
    Top 2: Merchant system, NPCs buy items, independent of quality, for very low prices and sell bad quality items for ridiculous high prices. I know it is to encourage trade with other players and rp, but often none are around that want your wares or can sell you something you want. And before you are able to make an item that anyone wants to buy, you have to slave away at items that sell at very low prices (see Top 1).
    Top 3: Hunger increase when farming, I know farming is hard work, but the food you grow is almost completely used on your own character after having harvested it, especially grain, this could be a little better balanced.
    Top 4: Thread making, for any tailor to get thread they either have to: a) get skilled in herb gathering to be able to find Sibanac leaf, or b) become a butcher of animals, or c) buy tread from merchants at very high prices. Option a and b lead you to spend a lot of time doing things you do not want to be doing, you want to be tailoring! High prices by merchants are gain maybe for rp reasons: you should buy from other characters, but often no-one can be found to sell you some thread, especially for starting characters. Some proposal about this was made in the proposal board, but I cannot react to it there…..
    Top 5: Speed at which some tools break/deteriorate, especially for good quality tools, that bad quality breaks easy, sure, but good quality tools deteriorate too quickly and need to be replaced too often.
Most missed features (some ideas were suggested before, I stole them)
  • Top 1: Ability to plant all kind of trees, there is a real apple tree frenzy going one, which is fun. Being able to increase the forest, with something other than pine trees, would be great.
    Top 2: Stackable herbs, sometimes you do not care about quality. Maybe make herbs of the same kind ánd quality stackable or let the stack take on the quality of the worst herb, as with potions? Druids would be much helped with this and none druids, who cannot tell quality anyway, should not stack if they are unsure of quality or should just accept that all quality might be lost.
    Top 3: Possibility to dispose of unusable tree logs, Tol Vanima is indeed littered with unusable logs from trees, it gives a very sad look of deforestation. I would like to be able to remove these (my character would invest time and effort), or maybe let them dissapear after a few days? (very nice in combination with Top 1)
    Top 4: Some lights go on automatically at night, mentioned for Trolls Bane, I very much would like this for the Hall of Vanima. Elven cities are often described as glowing with little lights at night, it would be nice to indeed see the lights in (some of) the torch holders in the main Hall automatically light up at night.
    Top 5: Bigger depots, hardly any characters in the game have a house or private corner of their own, where normally they would put a lot of their belongings. In the game we have to work with depots, which is a perfectly good alternative, provided these are big enough. They are not. And working with bags in depots is just too annoying and takes too much time when storing or retrieving items (it even negatively affects rp).
    Top 6: Being able to propose new ideas, somewhere, anywhere, or at least react to the given proposals, even for a newbie like me. We do have good ideas sometimes and can give the newbie view on a subject.
    Top 7: The possibility to be tracked down, and the ability to turn that on or off. This feature sounds very nice, but I think we should also be able to turn if off for our own character. Sometimes you do not wánt to be found by other players.
    Top 8: Position of shadows changing during the day, this is probably a little too insignificant to really implement, but it is strange to see the sunlight coming from the west (shadow in the east) during the entire day. Three different shadow positions would be nice: west, below or north of the tree (sun above) and east.
  • Top 2: Fragezeichen in der Landschaft
  • Top 3: Kein automatisches Ausloggen, wenn man sich einloggt, die Figur aber bereits online ist.
Die unbalanciertesten features
  • Top 1: Magie - zu schwer zu "erreichen", viel zu mächtig
  • Top 2:"Skillen" - für einen brauchbaren Kämpfer >150 h Zeitaufwand ohne rp ist übertrieben.
  • Top 3: Gefundene Items vs. Handwerksgut: high-end-Handwerksgut schlechter -> unbrauchbar
  • Top 4: Zu große Welt/zu viele Gruppierungen für zu wenig Spieler
  • Top 5: Verlieren von Skillpunkten durch gewolkt-werden
Die am meisten vermißten Features
  • Top 1: häufigere/mehr "Spielerbespaßer" im kleinen Rahmen, ohne Riesen-Quests
  • Top 2: Unmöglichkeit gesuchte Figuren zu finden ("Unsichtbar"-Modus bei O-Liste entfernen)
  • Top 3: "Wegwerffiguren" die nach 1* gewolkt hin sind mit Startskills für fortgeschrittene Rollenspieler (mit gewisser Überwachung der Spielleitung) für Spielen von Räbern/Viechern/sonst Wegwerffiguren
  • Top 4: "Skill"-Belohnungen für gutes Rollenspiel. (evtl. durch 'subjektive' Bewertung der Spielleitung)
Bei den vermissten Features ist vielleicht etwas dabei, dass sich vorerst recht protesterregend anhört, es gibt/gab jedoch UO-Shards an denen das nicht so schlechte Ergebnisse erzielt hat.
Today I accidently overcame a disappeared mule. I just said 'follow me' and walked, it reappeared and followed. There seems to be certain tiles that trigger it, they often are in front of depots, Trollsbane smith and the Union depots, I can say do it. It happened to me more than once today but returned as described above.
Why are people calling "magic" imbalanced? Mages aren't any more powerful than warriors anymore, in 1 on 1 fights. Unless you are complaining about the teaching system, I cannot see where you are coming from, and if you are, I disagree with you. I like the teaching system
95% Of the community is completely ignorant when it comes to the magic system. If you are considering to weaken the spells further, I suggest you do so based on a discussion among the staff members, not because players two months into the game complain.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I find the weapon system (serinjahs are really the only option for a warrior), crafting system (smiths are far more useful than other crafters), and archery system (of obvious reasons) most imbalanced.
I miss being able to drag monsters.
This topic is about what people think that is not balanced. Not what one thinks what other players consider in a wrong way.
