You should have posted in technical, but I think its disabled now.

Edit : Though I constantly hear about mages getting swirlies...but forget it about fighting.

The learning system *is* enabled; it is just *really* difficult for fighters to advance right now.

for fighters it was disabled for some time.... now the system is reworked, again needs some tweaking but should be much more.... smooth now.

Be happy, that it is enable now again.
Maybe its more difficult to make a skillgain-system for fighters, so that it needed more time and work? Only an idea.

I just went to the crypt for some training, and I lost the ability to concentrate after just five mummies. That's much faster than it's ever been. Is that by design?

Hey, I'm well aware of my failings! But it used to take a lot more than just five mummies to make me lose concentration. I hadn't done any sort of skill-gaining exercises beforehand, either. It just seemed like it came much faster than usual.

I get them every 10 - 15 pigs or so. Newbie char though.

Although tbh if I look at my actual skills bar I dont see a change in colour, though thats probably because I've only had 3 swirlys!

I've killed 40 pigs, 0 swirlies.
I goto kill a mummy, they break my armour, shield, and sword all from the starter items in 2 hits. I begin to punch them, I hit one twice and it says I can't concentrate anymore? I gained 0 skill!

Can anyone care to explain that?
Yes, newb character too.

What about carpenting does that work?
because I would not carpent if i am not skill gaining I am new to it and.. it would be a waste if i didnt learn anything

One time every two pigs I killed i leveled. It lasted for about 25 pigs then everything became as usual but odd before that When I wrote OCC i think a gm or someone said Cut the occ
So that gm must have followed me and let me level.

Is this true?

Why would a GM abuse their power in that way anyway?

Considering my newb character's strength is 14 and his intelligence is 13, I find it unreasonable that it takes a million hits to kill them and I don't learn a thing after getting lots of meat and leather.

because I killed a ton of pigs before and never leveled. My learning system must have been broken so maybe he comensated for the learning lost?

Again, any good GM would not abuse their power in this way.

Well, I am not getting any skill-ups OR any messages, that my char is too tired and cannot concentrate. (chopping off trees, making bottles, making cider)
So I am slightly confused, is the learning system enabled or disabled now?

Uhm I get level ups with my fairy in carpentry, but not in archery. My druid gets level ups in farming and alchemy. My fighter gets the massage with too tired to conzentrate after five hours of rp and then killing two mummies <.<

It seems an extremely low intelligence makes learning 99.9% impossible.
Wheras a high intelligence is the complete opposite.

It was posted by Cassandra that intelligence was not as big a deal when it comes to learning as some people think. There is obviously some confusion here.
