Well what about making the apples unstackable and changing it so that the apple you pick ends upp in your inventory.

Its easily possible in real life. A real life medieval farmer wishing to sell apples at a market would carry a sack of a hundred apples easily enough. And making fruit unstackable would make that very annoying to do. I would argue its not powergaming to specialise in something and work at that something in blocks if it is true to the setting. And, for example, a medieval baker might well bake enough bread for everyone in the village to buy two loaves in one batch. What I would consider PG (personally) is a character that spends all there online time baking huge amounts of bread and never does anything to relax, unwind, and enjoy themselves. But thats just my take on things.

Thats pretty much what PGing is in a nutshell.

...you get the picture. The stackable items just makes it so that you can't horde anything anymore. You can't stash too much of an item away. Personally, I love the new client, don't get me wrong. I just hate the limit to how much you can put in yer depot or carry in bags and the once-stackable-not-stackable-anymore items. This is a game. Though meant to be realistic I think in some areas its going a little overboard.

Well, since unstackable food seems to be like a bad idea to many (although it surprises me, I thought cooking would be becoming skill dependant in concerns to quality in the sense that a lousy cook makes food that tastes like dirt or is even contains minor food poisons—and thus making cooked products unstackable), I'll just say fine, I agree, try to keep it stackable; but I'm not sure if this is on topic.
Konstantin K wrote:As soon as a poisoned apple is stacked with normal apples - the entire stack becomes contamenated?
So it becomes a stack of "poisoned apple".

Of course, to justify this: food poison and weapon poison would have to be different items, since they would work differently. Weapon poison is a substance which gets into your blood and slowly drains your health, while food potion would be like a virus, a worm. Once you put a sick apple in a pile of healthy ones - it ruins the bunch, and you can throw them away.
Rather deadly type of poison, however, nobody is making you eat them. :wink:

Is such an algorithm possible? Upon adding an element of type "Poisoned" to a stack, subsituting a stack for another stack of equal amount but different object? So all normal apples become poisoned.
If this is being considered, I'm not really against it. In fact, there could be more than one poison type with varying effects; concerning the stack issue. One would be stronger and "toxic", the other would be lesser and take effect "only when ingested".

Greater poison alone --> poisonous
greater poison in a stack --> contaminates stack
lesser poison alone --> poisonous
lesser poison in a stack --> does not contaminate stack and becomes unpoisoned

We don't have too many in-game plagues these days, anyway. ;)

The stackable problem thing could be solved if we could put bags into bags again. But I don't think that's an option.

Well like Martin said the amount you can carry in bag was in volume, so it wouldn't matter if you had 20 unstackable apples or 20 stackable... :wink:

Would it be possible to calculate depot space regardless of wether an item is inside a bag or not? This way bags could be reversed to how they were without breaking the depot space limitation.
Then people could put their hundred of unstackable apples inside a bag to trade them.
