Well... when the type of puzzle is to turn all switches from off to on, working back from solution to problem is.....umm, pretty much the exact same thing.....

What do you mean HOW did I put it in? I just simply did. I can just take it out if I wanted. It's not like I have to play through the game as I make it, and solve the puzzle to be able to continue making the game :roll:. But I want to leave it there. A hard puzzle is a good puzzle. I just want to have the solution when people get stuck.

To give you an idea of what I mean, it's basically the same type of puzzle I did on the RPG board before, except this time there's more switches involved, and each of them trigger even more other switches.

If you flip switch 5, it will also flip switches 2,4,6, and 8.
If you flip switch 6, it will also flip switches 3,5, and 9.
If you flip switch 7, it will also flip switches 4 and 8.
If you flip switch 8, it will also flip switches 5,7, and 9.
If you flip switch 9, it will also flip switches 6 and 8.

If you get stuck and want to start over, flip the yellow switch in the corner to restore all switches back to the Red position.

Ack, I'm no good at verbal puzzles like that I'd have to play it in order to figure it out properly.

To put it visually, the puzzle described above is simply arranged as:

1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9

....where every switch also flips the adjacent horizontal and vertical switch.

Before you get too carried away by how technical and clever the puzzle is, play through it. As you do are you going "Boy! this is great fun" or "Stupid $%^&* puzzle, damn **!"$£% switches, AHHHH! to hell with it." When you finally solve it do you think you've achieved something or do you feel you never want to switch another switch in your life? Some things seem like a great idea at the time but take the fun right out of a game. I'm not criticising, well ok I am a bit, but there's a big difference between an interesting clever puzzle and an over complicated pointless one.
I hated games that thought it was interesting to put the switch to the door right over the other side of the castle, dungeon or whatever, and also to have it on a time limit so that by the time you got back to the door it was closed.
Anyway, the screenshots look great and I'm sure it will be a good game to play.

So, according to the conditions that when a flip is switched, it switches both itself and the adjacent h/v switches, this is the solution I came up with to the best of my ability with the limit of the human brain and lack of interactive test subject (>_<)

Something still seems wrong, though, and I very well could be since I'm probably leaving out some factor in the process that would typically be programmed into the actual puzzle, but of which my brain has overlooked. So correct me if I'm wrong.

I did it 1, 9, 5, 3, 7 either way works, just ashame this isn't Dylucks problem puzzle.

Which is exactly why I need to have the solution so that the player might obtain it through an alternate process if they choose so. Also, a difficult puzzle will definately yield an equally valuable reward. It can also be an optional puzzle.

Delakaniam and Moathia, you're both right, as there are numerous similar mirror solutions to this problem. The answer was already in the original thread of that puzzle as well. :)

Want your character in my game to have a custom graphic instead of leaving it randomly selected by me?

Then go to:
http://charas-project.net/index.php?lang=en

Under the title where it says Generators, click on charset. Then on the left side, just pick out a face, hair, dress, etc, and see the preview on the right side. Leave the default 'character medium' alone, except for halflings. Then click on save image to get the final picture and put it somewhere for me to see, and your character might just look like that in my game!

If you've never talked to me or never heard of me before, you probably won't be in my game, but feel free to make a character anyways and you just might still be added.
If you do know me, there's a 99% chance you'll have at least an obsure role in my game with at least 1 setence of dialogue! :)
