Welcome Aegohl! I eagerly awaiting players accusing you of being corrupt, twisted and..(what's that last one?)..ah yes, evil. Seriously though, welcome to Illarion (assuming you're totally new) we're not a bad bunch once you get past the lies, rumours and bitching. Welcome! :D And Arist, I ain't no ...

Byron, that's a bit of a silly accusation to point towards De'am. She was more than likely referring to people universally recognised as terrible roleplayers and similarly banned players.

But then...who am I to interpret what De'am means.

The flames should be disabled for the time being. This game is in it's alpha stages. If something doesn't work in a satisfactory manner, just remove it until it does. Roleplay your way around it. I don't see why people even use the blue flame if they are roleplaying properly. They presumeably know i...

What I have played of the game so far, is amazing. It's a pretty hefty download for 56kers however. It would be smaller, if certain bombastic boss battle MP3s were removed!

A week passed, and Brendan remained sailing to a place that he did not know. He lay on the boat, thinking of Silverstar, the shop that Mishrack had left in his care, during his absence. Would the people of the town take care of it? He didn't know and at that moment, wasn't sure whether he cared or n...

Serious roleplay can be fun too. But it always has to be enjoyable. When I first started playing Illarion, the vast majority of my roleplay was morbidly depressing to put it lightly. I saw what overly serious roleplay was doing to players like Kalypse and realised: "This is a game." From t...

Sitting in the streets and commenting on other character's lives can also be fun. And so is pretending that they're performing a play for you.

The more convulted, unusual and downright funny the better. I have several characters that I take seriously, including Brendan obviously.

I then have an Elven bard who gets on others nerves, a dog like orc and so forth. I'll write more when I have the time.

Herbs. He would certainly need herbs for the journey ahead, to heal any scrapes or injuries, and of course to season his meals with. He packed some donf, bulbesponge and sibanac into a small satchel and slung it over his shoulder. He busied himself about his small Greenbriar house, tying up all loos...

In a certain slant of light

In a certain slant of light the potted plant in Brendan's house looked like it was alive. The way the afternoon light shimmered against the waxy green leaves created the impression of a living creature, composed entirely of leaves. As Brendan finished watering it, he looked through the window of his...

It has nothing to do with Arien "treating you unfairly," as he isn't. This is the standard procedure for all characters and all players, with little to no exception. Use the situation to your advantage. Roleplay your character as somebody who under achieves, finds learning difficult. He'll...

I'm 100% sure that there's no intention to implement something like that. I want the game makers to spend time at more important things. Why waste their time with this, when, as you have already said, that this can be roleplayed.

As the rhyme goes, "I before E except after C unless it's the C in Science." Anyway, thief roleplaying. Quite the conundrum. I tried playing a thief once, but it's exceedingly difficult. People will rarely roleplay along with you (perhaps the more experience roleplayers will) and the only ...

I'd just like to address your points in a logical order. But I'm pretty sure that a little help isn't, in fact, going to kill you. But when that "help" is in the form of something that isn't needed, then it's not really help, is it. Martin (one of the game's creators) knows what needs to b...

I honestly don't think that languages make a roleplaying game any more or any less enjoyable. I was always under the impression that the point of a roleplaying game was to craft a character and interact with other characters. This is the core concept of roleplay, and languages are simply a (a very f...
