can't start map editor

Getting this message when I try to open the map editor. Similar errors are shown for NPC and quest editors for both, development and release options. I'm using the newest Linux downloader 64 bit .deb package version with Linux Mint 17. The game client works, as long as I choose the dev option. Looks...

1. We do not have a policy of interference with the inner workings of other towns. 2. We do not deny our citizen the right to nap whenever and for how long they wish. See the quartermaster about renting a suitable location for your slumber. Many of our flats are still vacant. 3. To guarantee the av...

Re: Get rid of banning npcs or..

I don't think we had a case where a player was banned by another player or GM without any kind of follow up RP at all, so I don't think arguing in the direction of who should have access to what tools is helpful. This should always be decided on an individual basis. The use of the town management to...

Re: Return to the old movement system

It provided more control because it ignored items on the map. I've created a mantis task that addresses this problem, but it likely involves a bit of a trade off. Please review and comment. Regardless of my suggestion there, I support having an option to switch between different movement methods if ...

Re: Get rid of banning npcs or..

I would just like to point out that two bannings have happened recently and neither was reported on the boards. Neither character was given notice. This cannot and should not happen. Ever. In Galmair, I know notice was sent out to the upper echelons, people in charge, but no notice was posted to le...

Re: Get rid of banning npcs or..

So what happens when you find the secret entrance to your own town? You just leave it open and unguarded? That would make no sense at all IC.
Would be better if guard NPCs could let in transformed or invisible chars, should invisibility potions ever be implemented.

Re: Current Game Thoughts

@Teflon: I get your point and playing a chancellor, will do my best to roll with the situation as it is. I didn't even have plans for any chars I ever played to become supreme rulers of some town. I'm simply concerned that the very safety you speak of is (or at least is perceived to be) too much for...

Re: Current Game Thoughts

Thanks for taking the time to write this. This really helps see things from a GM perspective. I'd like to respond to a few of the points, since I've already adressed many of the topics here and it feels like some of it is referring to what I wrote before. The Don is a tool. Nothing else. It should h...

Re: Current Game Thoughts

And another question ... how long do I need to pace in the wilderness before my MC is reset again? The less, the better. If you can't find anyone to RP with, you could just as well powergame all that time you'd spend pointlessly running around. The skill result will be the same, but you'll have mor...

Re: Current Game Thoughts

I tend to agree with this, we had more towns on Gobaith Sure we had more settlements, some of which have been converted into monster infested ruins even pre VBU, which barely anyone bitched about, but how many were actually continuosly populated? Only Bane was. Silverbrand, Varshikar, Orc cave, Van...

Re: Alchemy improvements? - Alchemieverbesserungen?

I agree with Uffe. Also, invisibility potions would be a nice addition if they were about as limited as slime barriers. The invisible char should be ignored by monsters. The effect should end immediately however, if you attack anything. As a countermeasure you could make a dustcloud explosive or som...

Welcome back! It might help if you would elaborate what changes to the chat window you don't like exactly. Maybe my memory of the old one is fading, but I can't think of anything that has changed there, except for the now missing speech mode button. Same goes for the obstacles. What were the concret...

Re: Relocating depots/common area

I don't see anything seriously negative with Sammy's, but let's imagine this gets implemented. What would actually change? - easier to transfer items between towns - getting banned from a town doesn't come with loss of items stored there Would this encourage players to visit the Necktie? Yes, but pr...

Re: Relocating depots/common area

This proposal is a very dirty solution to the problem we want to get rid of, if it is a solution at all. Just imagine how weird it would be that the towns have no storage and leave all their depots at the inn. Why would any sane town ruler put up with that? Teleporting between depot and town worksho...

If there isn't anyone around to talk to the only way to reduce the skill cap is to run around. Can't take any action that relates to a skill unless you are already maxed in it. So when I reach my gain for the time being, I have to run around. There is no cap anymore. You do not have to stop powerga...

Re: Return to the old movement system

It works pretty well for me with the avoid obstacles option off, so maybe you guys are experiencing bugs? I still use wasd-movement mostly, but whenever I use the mouse, it does what it should. However, having options to turn off UI features you just don't like even when they are bug free, is always...

People had a place to go and be if they wanted to rp. People knew where to look. That's why travelling to the Necktie and back to your hometown is no free! Re: Probleme mit Völkern in Illa / problems with races at Il

Just a note on Ronagan. Nowhere does it say he is a god of robbery. Thieving means stealing by stealth (trying your best to avoid violence, despite the risk of it occuring if things go wrong) and could well be stretched to include stealing by scam, but a robbery is always a threat of violence that c...

Re: What are you thinking right now?

GM lead towns promote the idea that you need a GM to create your fun for you I guess..? No, but since GM leaders have unlimited power in their towns, you can't risk any intra-town (or inter-town, as long as your leader doesn't want a war for that matter) conflict that goes beyond insults or maybe a...

I tried a reinstall again since the latest update made my version 2.1.15.3 client unusable. Both the .deb package and the .sh don't work for me. Re: New installation process

I have both Oracle Java 7u60 and Open JDK 7u55 installed, because LibreOffice needs OpenJDK. Oracle Java is set as default though and the client did reinstall and is still running when I use the old .jar file to launch, so there must be a problem with the new launcher.

Re: Item pickup / Aufsammeln von Gegenständen

If there is no bag or a full bag, stuff should go to the belt, yes. As you say, simply a change of the order in which the slots are filled would do the trick. I hope it isn't too complicated to do. While gathering resources or crafting, having the items appear in the bag wouldn't be an inconvenience...

Item pickup / Aufsammeln von Gegenständen

Before I write up a feature request in Mantis many wouldn't want, I'd like to ask you all whether you'd prefer if items you pick up with the P key for example landed in the bag by default instead of the belt. For me, when gathering resources, having the stuff land in the belt is alright. When I figh...
