He twitched heavily in the uneasy sleep; his feet pushed an empty bottle of wine over, causing it to fall against two other empty bottles. The loud sound of the bottles made him shiver, and he could feel the cold sweat on his forehead as he reluctantly opened his eyes… glancing around the dark room...

He kept staring at the ship until the day turned to evening and the sails finally disappeared into the Horizon. He stood there, hoping that the ship would turn back or that he somehow... anyhow... could turn back the time. If it just was possible to live the moment again, he would have grabbed her ...

Bandorakai is sort of new too, from what I gather. Though, this seems like a GM-matter definitely. The problem with jailing such chars is that the GM's do not generally like us jailing chars indefinitely (which I sort of understand). EDIT: That cannot be done ever ever ever . He did NOT have the rig...

Those that are eventual masters have been in game a long time also. A nice freedom of the game is to be able to choose without restriction and change when they want rather then making a new character. I'm not arguing against the freedom of choosing skill. Read what I said. However, what I am saying...

No, Mr. Cromwell, I don't think that Illarion should benefit people for their choice of playing their roles. I like playing a "real man" who lives with his wife in his hometown, works all day and goes hunting - as his forefathers did before. This gives me the possibility to be not bored b...

..By separating dex into (Crafting) dex and then Hand-to-eye Coordnation (Fighting). Dex has not positive effect on fighting at all (makes even sense, as the sort of coordination you need while fighting or throwing this is often quite different than what you need when you patiently try to create som...

Re: Call for opinions: Lead attributes

blacksmithing Str ____________________________________________________________ The reason why I gave no fighting skill a "Dex" is that Dexterity is very often used for crafting, and fighters shouldn't have bonuses on crafting skills too. Edit: Oh, just realized that Cromwell already point...

Aha. Someone has a lot in dex I see. :P No, my motivations with removing dex are simple: Complaints regarding warriors who make their own stuff. As it currently stands, dexterity does (AFAIK) affect fighting quite a bit, the scale depending on the weapons at use. This means, that a fighter has every...

There is a simple reason for the lack of supply: lack of demand! When no one buys smithed items, no one will produce them! I say: give it a try! Remove itemdrops! Change it into coins or, as Hadrian suggested: make a new item, only usable to be sold to NPCs. Try it for some weeks. Testing that for ...

One thing that might create the impression of stagnation to especially someone who is not playing the game, is the fact that the guild-scene is practically dead. The active 'guilds' are few and far between, and even the towns suffer from (varying degrees) of inactivity. The reason why there are not ...

Have background noise, like bird-song/animal noises in forests, river sounds by water, ocean sounds by the sea. In mountains you could have the sound of the winds, while in towns you get background people noise. Not sure about deserts. Maybe an orcish war-drum? Please make them quite subtle and non...

I'll just say this: One day we had werewolves and whatnot in the game, the second day staff said "No." From that point on, we did not have a half-halfling-half demons and werewolves and whatever ingame anymore. The precedent is there. You cannot so easily cut a wedge between the two (IG/OO...

The problem was what I see as inconsisency of argument. What you say actually applies to directly every organization in this game. What pisses me off is the way you apply your logic just to 'one' thing in particular. If use RL as yardstick for any IG community measurements, every community is laugha...

That's the symptom, not the problem. The problem is actually low number of players. Or more precisely, low number of players compared to a high number of settlements (Goldburg, TB, Vanima, Orcs of the North, Greenbriar, Caelum, Monastery, Varshikar, Nordmark, Zzyathis, Silverbrand, Magic Academy, Gr...
