Try again. The first time you log in it logs you out because it creates a character folder in your illarion directory.

I think initialy you can raise skill from 2 new chars, but it will reach a peak where you can no longer gain more skill off each other unless one or the other has more skill.

I don't think weapon braking is a bad thing. The only bad thing it would seem about it, is the apparent ease they break with, but then again your character may not know how to wield it properly without it braking yet, but we (as players) don't have a clue.
