Re: Skill limit

No, the current system isn't perfect but I think it accomplishes what it needs to. I agree with the problems you identified in your examples, but I just cannot accept that statement. Illarion is averaging <10 players online at once. The skill system is regularly complained about, and has driven ple...

Re: Skill limit

It was really lame and caused a lot of problems if I remember correctly. What sort of problems, if you can remember? I'm glad you asked.. There was a specific example of a halfling fighter mage that went around with shields casting spells at everyone. Even though he didn't have great fighting stats...

Re: Skill limit

Years ago skills used to go up faster and we had maxed mage/fighter/crafters around every corner. It was really lame and caused a lot of problems if I remember correctly. I think that is why the cap was put in place and why skills went up slower. I think it would sort of "kill the economy"...

Re: Skill limit

Well, moving away from the Gm's handing out skills. It was mentioned earlier about and automated system where depending on how many #me's are being used you got points to spend on whatever or somaehitng like that. I believe there is also the problem that the number of #mes you do and the number of ...

Re: damage

I think there have been changes in the fighting system in the last year. That could cause your characters to be stronger with whatever stat builds you gave them. Other than that, there is the fact more and more people have figured out which armor and weapons work better for them.

Honestly, I was all for jailing in the other topic but.... The removal of the jail seems like a good idea if POs of banned characters can be responsible or make good RP decisions. Is it also safe to assume the players will be punished OOCly if they cannot manage to accept their in game punishments b...

I did a practical RP option and took away your RP. This is the point exactly. A handful of players taking RP away from other players on a whim is bad for the game. Even worse when players go around causing revolutions that no one can do anything about because it takes from their RP. @Elijah Ask eve...

@The great one Everyone does not get "the same brush" as you put it. There are fines and town bans for lesser offenses. It seems more like the players of jailed characters put themselves in jail more than the jailer does. Starting a revolution or killing other players leaves everyone in a ...

Yes, I'm suggesting that if the POs of guards/jailors are not interested in roleplaying their parts face to face in the prison, they probably should rethink that line of RP. What's the point of that RP if the POs involved don't want to play it out in game? We aren't talking about the RP responsibil...

I'm pro in game jails. Having had character s executed/jailed for a long period of time, I am sympathetic. It's hard to loose a character or not be able to play one. But the truth is..if you do extreme things you get extreme consequences. Start with a new character if you have to and if you think yo...

Because we can't seem to keep all the things we read out of out character's heads.. Maybe the best thing to do when some one uses OOC knowledge is to shrug it off as words spreading or rumors. How do we know if we maxed out a skill? (Apart from the obvious.) How do we check what exact number we have in a skill? (0-100?) If that's even possible? When your skill bar won't go up anymore. Ten minutes of using the skill should tell you that. Most people guess and/or look at it in paint with t...

I was banned years ago for not being scared of Athian actually. That was when the game didn't have any magic system in it. I wish rules were enforced as strictly now. True, but actors ACT, while many players tend to take an ingame insult against their character very personal out of the game.
