Re: Some Observations From a Return Player
This proposal http://illarion.org/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=38915 was written regarding people being able to select skill upon character creation a little while back... it seems relevant to point: 2. With the first suggestion in mind character creation should allocate learning points...

Some great RP in the Sports Hole today! Thanks to Marcus, Bob, and Lawlett, though it did get a little odd. Always good fun when Akaltut shows up someplace to stir up the blood!

Re: The Galmair Inn
Marcus was seen in town today, drinking the blood of one of the worker elves before he disappeared into thin air, leaving nothing but flames and the body behind. The Chancellor, Arcia, was notified of the presence of this menace in town, but gave no advice as to what to do with him. Marcus was shack...

Explorers Report! In running for my life from all the undead around the lava pools, I did slip into the well near the old hedge mage that burned down some time ago, trying to find a safe refuge. Inside, I found some halflings living there and it would seem some other unseemly sorts have moved in! I...

Explorer's Report! / Telegramm der Forschergilde!
A parchment is posted on a board at the Hemp Necktie Inn. It is somewhat tattered and stained. Explorer's Report! Akaltut found alive and living in the Border Mountains east of Cadomyr! Many monsters were found deep underground within her fortress, making an exploration highly dangerous. It is stron...

Uhuru watches as one dwarf keeps returning to the mountain behind Charwis to dig. She keeps trying to kick him out of there, but he returns to dig anyway. She tells Dagnoar that someone should be watching these dwarves, however, she doesn't tell him her biggest fear, which is that if they are to bre...

Kyre, With all due respect, I have some reservations about the dwarves the Chancellors hired to complete the work on the Sleepy Bujhaar Inn. I found one dwarf stumbling around the front gate, mumbling something about a fourth beer break or some such nonsense before his lunch break. Then I walked int...

Re: Money Sinking and MC-Reduction Ideas
We do have dice and coin flip mini games right now. They are there and the act of using them will help lower MC, I don't think they give more than coin returns.

It was a great quest today, thanks to everyone involved... this was an awesome moment... as those with magical abilities argue over mana lines, others calmly think of other things with explosive outcomes. Re: Spider dungeon and soulpain
I'm sorry that you feel this way. However, the spider dungeon is not a mid level dungeon. It was meant to be a higher level dungeon, between mid and high. I wouldn't take my maxed out character there alone, with her top level armor and gemmed weapons. Do be careful there. As to the spiders, we did r...

Re: The Altar of the Five
Evie and Uhuru spend many hours away from Galmair in prayer at the Altar of the Five, looking for guidance on how best to continue the work there. Uhuru brought in much wood, which she had Evie shape into perfect railings to keep Evie from falling. Something Evie is apt to do and rather often, even ...

The Altar of the Five
Uhuru can be seen hauling supplies and building materials up to the Altar of the Five, near Galmair. Upon first entering, she kneels before the altars and offers up a prayer and offering, hoping for a blessing in her endeavor.

I do agree with certain things said here... 1) Nobody takes death in game seriously. 2) Any change made to death in game must be thought through very carefully before implemented. 3) Rewarding the killer(s) will lead to certain characters getting harassed, within the boundaries of the rules of Illar...

Re: MC-System: Idea to smooth out the 'Jerkyness'
Not sure it is about rewarding. Fishing and cooking are fine, but a character, playing a fighter, may prefer to RP being a bad fisherperson and cook, even though he has to fish and cook quite regularly. Just because a character can learn to fish to level 100 doesn't mean it is practical from an RP p...

Re: Illarion skilling vs traditional rpg skilling
Sure estralis, but the skills that are important to ragorn are in the 80's, which will take considerably longer than a few minutes to level at that MC level.

Re: MC-System: Idea to smooth out the 'Jerkyness'
I believe someone asked this before... is there no way to shut off learning skills in certain categories? Just because my player has to fish to survive, doesn't mean she wants to continue to learn every time she does so. Just wondering if there is any way to be selective. Or if this is completely out.

Re: Illarion skilling vs traditional rpg skilling
I have to agree with Shandariel. This is why I rarely play my alts, as they have no maxed skills and nothing to do to lower MC. Everything they touch causes them to learn. Literally, everything. MC is, I'm sure, shockingly high. I spent days and days, just walking one character around the desert, no...

It was/is a place where people could work on skills while waiting for people to pass through. So they could do something, knowing that many people pass through there every...
