Looking for a mage
A note hangs at various places throughout town. More often than not, whoever placed the note put it on top of others who claim to sell the best finesmithing goods in town. Hear ye, hear ye, this message goes out to all mages, aspiring or adept. I am looking for a mage for experiments concerning magi...

Lizzie says: Am I.. am i too late to join?
Ssar'ney says: Ss, ss... magizzzianss. Alwaysss late.
Djironnyma says: A mage attends ever at the time he - or she - plans to attend - a mage is never late
Let's be honest, someone had to say that.

Please let me know if I have any mistakes in here, left anything significant out, or anybody wants to know how attributes impact a certain activity. Hey, first of all thank you for the thorough explanation. I've had one question: Is the impact of CON on DMG reduction static, or dynamic/does it scal...

Tyan Masines, could you please send your proposals concerning storytelling/lore to the Group "Gamemasters"? Thanks a lot! http://illarion.org/community/forums/ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose Estralis, this was an attempt, and all that came from it despite the cheeky response from a GM was f...

Re: Was there a time when Illarion had more than 10 players
Active accounts are at 64, to be precise. The information is openly available. Illarion traditionally does have a dent in activity during summer time. Last year (and the year before) at the same time we had about same number of active accounts. Since when is performing badly a measure of success, r...

Please get off the talk of gems. This isn't about that. Sorry to be this direct -- but this isn't about the Bearers of Fire either. I could write a screed about the Bearers or how the Queen of Cadomyr has been roleplayed as well, but that would be personal. I realize I have problems with how some p...

Thank you for opening this. For an alterning proposal which is not just as radical as wiping all gems, scroll down. 1. Creates a reason for people to join a town. This seemed to be the core of the matter in many of the other complaints. Characters should join a town (or not!) based on their roleplay...

Re: Player Governments/ Evil town
Gems are the ultimate way of being a good fighter. The whole game economy, the whole crafting system, everything really, is there to support fighters, nothing else. @Tyan - In my experienced opinion as a dedicated craftsman, I don't believe the whole economy is geared for fighters - maybe 25%. My c...

Partial/light ban: In addition to the total town ban, a limitation of the ban to some areas of a town instead of the whole town. In Galmair's case, these Galmairan chars could only enter the underground of Galmair via a secret entrance, which only they could use. This is a grand idea. All in all, t...

Re: Player Governments/ Evil town
Illarion worked for ages without any NPC leaders or engine wise bans. Anyway we had the same situation, we had small towns leaded by strong guilds and we had one town – Trolls Bane – which was the melting pot of everything else and which was unable to build a stable government. Forcing the NPC lead...

Re: Player Governments/ Evil town
Two towns feel like they are managed by the views of a few players forcing everyone that does not fit in those views into Galmair. This is the major issue with player clashing in Galmair. All things considered, this might be the right track. In conjunction with what Kamilar wrote about the sandbox ...

How about a "Galmair Government" forum that is hidden except to government officials to discuss topics, ideas and such no matter the timezone? This could be easily setup by your forum administrator and would help eliminate the need to be on all at the same time (which is often hard if the...

In addition to what people already wrote, I believe there needs to be sone kind of objection process which has to be officially announced. It may be so that it is possible already, but does not have the desired effect imho. Objection Process If a character / group of characters is not content with t...

He pushes the door shut and staggers towards the table, placing both his hands on it to keep his stance. He inhales and loosens his weaponbelt, trying to keep a stern face although nobody is there to watch. He sits on the chair next to the table and unsteadily grabs a bottle of rum, taking a hearty ...

As the sun faded behind the horizon, it bathed the desert in the warmest of lights. And under a distant glimmer over sand and water, the dying light bid Cadomyr farewell. A cool breeze from the ocean accompanied Tyan from the teleporter to the city gates of the desert fortress. The area began to coo...

Re: Death
All in all I agree with Tyan. Punishing the group sounds like a better idea. In addition to what was already said, I thinks things like a impact on the town (treasury) could be added in case of characters dying. That could be linked to all deaths or only to deaths by players of another town that is...

Thanks for your feedback, RobinValentine. Let me try to reply to some of your points. A lot of that lore derived from before the VBU and it was indeed always up to player creativity to some extend . There was an old world map once which showed the empires, but it was discarded for the VBU map. There were attempts to "locate" Illarion (the land is called that now) on the wor...

The truth will be somewhere between Damien's and Fooser's points. Just one thing to add to Damien about the "this game is not about being entertained." <- This is the core idea of a game. I wrote something similar many many years ago, but put it this way: Don't expect to be entertained, do...

"Traitor" , the guardman murmured as Tyan passed by. Tyan stopped, and turned his head to look at the man. It was a young lad, probably eighteen or nineteen years old, and he was flying Cadomyr colors and the typical guard uniform. The lad pretended to not notice Tyan's gaze, and spat on ...

A man hands Lar Able a small letter. "Deliver this to your master, please", he tells him.
Upon opening the letter, it reads:
Zack,
I have taken care of the due rent for your flat.
I shall keep doing so until you return, so no need
to worry about losing it.
Signed,
Tyan
