Re: Nominations for the Governance of Trolls Bane

I wish to second the nomination of Orren Paddock and Artimer Fault for advising council, as well as display further support for Fooser's nomination as Governor.

I also accept my own nomination for advising council.

If Illarion had actively promoted cooperative roleplaying in the past, then this might have worked. But it hasn't done so. (Writing 'play together' wherever it seems applicable does not count.) The community has not been trained to cooperate. Many players have developed strong negative feelings for...

*A rat carrying a note*

A large brown rat can be seen running down the streets of the town, a note tied around its back. Few would take notice of this, but if someone were to catch it and take read the note, they would find this.

To whomever finds this, come to the jail, and find me.
Bring help.

As I posted above, an engine enforced solution can help this. Just like getting ghosted has an engine enforced penalty. If you are tortured and have your legs broken, you can not expect to have the same agility when leaving jail. Harsh treatment in jail will break your constitution and will power. ...

The fact you're not seeing is these jailings are apart of the RP, and in order to talk about them (and ultimately the thread you've linked us to) you must talk about RP. Not one post in here has not talked about RP elements, because quite honestly that is what this thread is about. Imprisonment is ...

You think temporary bans for people who break ig laws, thus completely eradicating any chance for rp is a good solution for "People can't log in and rp"? There's a simple way to not get in jail; don't break the laws. You can't complain about facing the consequences of the actions you know...

Re: Jail

I think jailing should be agreed between players oocly, same as permadeath of a character or any other edgy aspect of roleplay. I think the jailing of characters should have closer GM oversight and possibly have a temporary ban on a jailed character to enforce the game play. I think a limit of a fe...

The Prisoner could not get it out of his mind. Those last few words the magistrate had said before he been brought back to his cell. "I can see you know you have done no wrong" The words rang through his head. Were they a hint at mercy from the magistrate? He could only hope so. His knee ...

The prisoner woke up, his voice raw from yelling. He didn't remember going to sleep. His body must have given in on him. How long had he been here? It felt like he'd nearly been there ten days. He had seen no one in that whole time. The solitude was enough to drive him mad, and even more so the fee...

And the other RP options for my character? You expect any Governor or leader to simply sit around and go "Nah.. I don't want to do anything to him. Let them have their revolution. *dunks his crumpet in his tea cup.*" Did I say that? I said that until there are more rp opportunities in the...

Just one girl's opinion here, but .... I am in support of anyone with a character in jail beginning an RP thread. It's not like there's any RP opportunities for them otherwise. From my point of view, whatever that's worth, Altrix's PO should not have made this thread. If people noticed too late, that's their problem. I can understand PO Elijah's desire to keep this secret as it was ICly. The only thing that Altrix should have done is tell everyone OOCly that he's not away...

Topic as old as RP itself. Metagaming should not be used to take advantage, but is necessary at least to some point to keep things moving. I entirely agree. Within 40 minutes, no one would realize I was gone. However, maybe in a couple days it would be fine, because irl, people would notice such things. And there is a degree of difference to this. People might not do something like that if someone just couldn't get on for a few days, b...
