Re: Madness Mummies

I would like to commend the Knight for this endeavor and his excellent display of initiative during these harsh times, though he may not hear it from his superiors. His actions are noted. Hopefully other knights can look up to this behaviour, despite whether their superiors like it or not. Presumabl...

Re: I have a dream

I feel like this will lower regular gem output, which I'll say for finesmithing and by extension glyph forging will just be that much more difficult to level than the other crafting skills. Seeing as to how regular gems are used for many crafting recipes as well, I feel that unless regular gem outpu...

Re: The Dragon's slumber

His dreams were filled with gold, jewels, and relics, his glorious hoarde. He looked across a bleak and lifeless plain, the only light that shone was from his glowing artifacts he had collected. He was alone, left to survey his gleaming possessions with a covetous pride. The ominous wind carried the...

The Dragon's slumber((closed))

"That well adorned Lizardman..The big red one, who was he again?" Lothar asks Fronita in the Marketplace of Runewick. She shrugs and purses her lip in a 'I've no clue' gesture."Sardon, you halfwitted halfers!" Alysa giggles jokingly. "Oh yea? Well I've been missing his business!" Lothar pouts then m...

Re: Magical gem system (Changes)

A better way of saying it imo is "how can we keep people interested in improving their character after they have their desired skill sets." I too think this is important. Illarion is really lacking in content, it's bad enough we can hardly customize what equipment we wear as there is a meta for leve...

Re: Magical gem system (Changes)

ps: For those who are disheartened by the gap between older chars, you can hunt maps or gather for extra gems or you can seek out people who would give gems for work or apprenticeships, or maybe someone would give gems for loyalty which seems to be nonexistent in a world of knights and dragons :arr...

Re: Magical gem system (Changes)

So? Some of the biggest maps I heard give up to 4 latent gems. From gathering for a few hours I can get 1 sometimes 2 latents a day. To catch up to people who have much more playtime would take some determination, but it's not impossible, who says you can't get some friends to help you work for gems...

Re: Magical gem system (Changes)

I would propose adding more uses for the gems with a couple of those uses being a consumable. For powerful potions or one time use artifacts. We could have more hidden places on the map like the Bjolmur altar which require gems. There's ALOT of options. The key is to add more content instead of taki...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

Okay seriously, who needs any kind of exp or apprentice bonus? On one char I have 3 maxed out skills while hardly even trying to be active. Skills are not an issue that is restricting rp. Apprenticeship is a role I think should be done here, but the 'master' and 'apprentice' need to mutually respect...

Re: DE translations needed

I'll jump on the band wagon and note that I found it kind of weird that Runewick and Cadomyr are realms of values/ideas while Galmair is a realm of a 'condition'. Especially the German translation "Wohlstand", directly translating to 'being wealthy' (which Galmair is right now, in relation to the o...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

Yes, I understand this, however it leads to this because there's an issue. If something keeps coming up, maybe it's a sign that there is an actual problem. All I said was it's a german game, started by german speaking people, who obviously gravitate to people they understand. If you want this game n...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

Since there is no issue, I guess we can sit back and watch as players come back and everyone has fun right?

At what point will someone admit that Illarion's community is responsible for it's lack of content, and players.

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

My question is why haven't any english speaking guilds that have popped up ever gotten up to the positions that German players hold? It could be they aren't motivated enough to get that far, if that's the case why? Or is it that they can't? If so why? Why isn't it fishy that these positions are neve...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

People are buying indie retro games that I could've played on my gameboy, sometimes for $30+! Graphics are not the issue. Social Atmosphere is. We had players to make that atmosphere, now we do not. The obvious issue is keeping current players and providing more for them to enjoy. They'll tell their...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

http://illarion.org/media/statistics/us_actplayers.png I reeally want to point out the difference in change between the German and English accs. The German accs have remained relatively consistent with dips and spikes following the trends of the english accs, BUT! The english accs are far more chao...

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

Admittedly my motivation has been fleeting these past couple days. I just find that rp itself can be frustrating with characters whom are controlling and who kinda disregard whatever you say and make their own delusional assumptions, I get these are characters and not players but at what point are y...

Re: Strange Happenings

It appears the Academic council hasn't even set foot outside the town, it seems they are more interested in putting indictments on someone for leaving wood around.

Re: Summoning monster

I don't think Shamanism and arcane magic really have any difference from a lore standpoint on Illarion, it's merely another name for a 'magic user'. I don't think there will be more specific magical classes nor is there really a need to, keep in mind it takes some time for a warrior or a crafter or ...

Questions

A note is posted in the library. Greetings people of Runewick, I've been living here for some time and have no idea of the legal structure of the town. There are no guards or magistrates to ask, and most people just refer you to "The Bearers of Fire". There is no way to seek legal advice, put in a l...

Re: Artifact Creation

True, it would be odd if everyone was summoning animals, I did hope it'd be different for each class, but summoning will be an incredibly useful skill for particularly squishy classes. :P

Summoning monster

I had considered this place to be a place of proposals . Who cares if Druids can tame animals or summon them? I'm genuinely interested in how this affects the fact that mages (according to some players I've spoken to) used to be able to summon creatures in this same way and now it's planned that the...

Can we add different coordinates to be available for the portals? It is magic  being able to go more than 4 places on such a large map is desirable. (More Sandbox plz!)

I also like what Rakust said, we need more role played professions to add some flavor. Maybe all those "crafters with lots of coins" could hire some and promote?

Re: Kommunikation/Communication

I agree with this entirely. I want to point out we have three towns with such a strict system of balance that there's nothing going on anyway. You can build a guild but then do what? Wait for a gm to entertain you? In a way the game itself promotes this sort of behaviour. There's more reward to powe...
