I know to ctrl-click oppodents and stand near them, but when I try with a pig it doesn't work, i follow it around and after half an hour nothing happens, what am I not doing?

I have a W98 and I downloaded the 9x version of Illarion, I have a account, Character (Accepted) and Illarion on my computer, and obviously the internet, now... its saying I can't connect and stuff like that when on the main page it says sever is online, I'm confused.
