reidan: Spyware may be the problem (have you checked)? You can download ad-aware6 (which removes loads of spyware) and then try to play.

Are you adding these --> !@#$%^&*()<,>.?/:;", etc. to your username, real name, or e-mail address (you can add "@" in your e-mail)?

You will get an error if you try doing so.

Just a note: If your character is listed on the server status and you're not in game, it generally means that there's something wrong with the server.
