It's a shame to see you go, and unfortunately, I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of RP'ing with you. But you have decided that playing Illarion has interfered with too much of your free time, and therefore you are cutting it off. Good on you, you have enough willpower to put real life p...

Or Jonnie Walker. I wanted Jonnie at least, but nooo, I had to get a more American (meaningless) name.

It depends on what you're fighting and how good you are, really. For instance, with Maggie: if I fight a pig with swords, I will 'try' to learn slashing weapons each time I make a strike. If I use my staff, I learn nothing. If I'm fighting a mummy with swords, I will 'try' to learn slashing with ea...

2. It's like smoking xD First thing ot do when one comes home... turn the computer on and check the forum. Hehe, tell me about it. Sometimes I know that having a smoke late at night won't give me a "buzz" I'm looking for, but I like to habitually go out and light one up because I know the...

Good ideas as well, but regarding the dove suggestion...that's a bit sticky. I'd say make the dove sending timed, as it may be in the real world...say, 5 to 7 minutes for a message to be sent from character to character? Now, there wouldn't be a limit as doves may fly around all the time ('cause Ill...

Why do you play Illarion?

Boredom always yields a personalized topic.

So, why people? Why?

I'm not really sure why I'm still here, but apparently I do enjoy it otherwise I wouldn't still be around. 3 years going on 4, sheesh.

I liked Fala's playing style. He gave the character a face that says more than "I'll beat you up if you defy me," and has a well-stocked depot with some high quality shields to buy at reasonable prices. Good stuff.

All three guesses are correct, but there's another point in which it's just that I play a game for fun. And the more hassle a game is to play, the less fun it is for me. If you implement parts of a system that punish the casual gamer, it's less attractive for people who don't have alot of time to i...

I agree with all points, very good suggestions. Or if need be as an alternative, I'd suggest extended death period (probably 15 minutes or so) in ghost form. Upon revival attributes would be temporarily reduced (10 minutes or so) and the item dropage can remain the same, with no loss in skill (consi...

Considering my newb character's strength is 14 and his intelligence is 13, I find it unreasonable that it takes a million hits to kill them and I don't learn a thing after getting lots of meat and leather.

The risky part about roleplaying thievery properly, and holding a dagger to somebody's neck, is that the victim has absolutely no fear and magically breaks free of the grip (my character has 9999 strength duuuur!). Then the combat skills come into play, and the thief gets killed. So I think it'd be ...

Mummies are okay, but I haven't seen a "blue swirl" with my character in about a week or so...I think he maxed out his learning ability with the mummies somewhere in the bright-green range.

So, yeah...your best bet would be to pay a player-character in copper to help you out.

Their first meeting wasn't a contract killing attempt. He started out as a petty robber, was beaten after attempted robbery, befriended your character, became a guard recruit and got out.

Stephen has no knowledge of this recent killing.

He's a well known character, but not well known as an assassin...that's a secret life he leads, which only the victim could have knowledge of. Now keep in mind I PM'ed the target earlier asking if he wanted to have his character perma-killed or not. And he said no. That's fine, it's his character, I...

Level Headed Rant

I'll try and be neutral here. So one of my characters started in the assassin business. He takes out the target, and the only person that could've had any knowledge of who killed who is the target himself...who was dead (not perma-killed, but the ghost-to-cross-revival). And exactly what I was to ex...

That's why I prefer characters with well rounded attributes. So if any changes in the game occur, my guy will never be shorthanded...he can do a little bit of everything. Delanroth, for example, has decent enough skills and equipment to take on average characters. He may never be the best hand to ha...

Should've been here back in the good ol' days, when one could master something in a day if they powergamed the hell out of their character. Then Serpardum made it 10x longer gain, and some people had trouble with it. But now, 10x than 10x? Slap my ass in public why don't you.

I barely have the time and patience to train Delanroth the way I did, so what's my motivation for doing it 10 times longer? And if my character sucks at everything, what's my motivation for playing? Sheesh.
