Yeah, I figured that much out.

But seriously, if he runs, there shouldn't be anything to worry about for the rest of the day. I mean, if the punk returns just after you beat him up, that's crappo RP...in which case you'd notify a MOD and he be dealt with. Hopefully.

What's wrong with the turd running off after you beat him senseless? That's a win in my book. Why is it so important that he must "poof" into a cloud?

Way cool. Where can I read about the developments of the new system? I just hope there aren't "jab" "hook" "cross" "uppercut" skills.

Yes. Concussion skill is raised by fist fighting, and no, fist fighting doesn't have it's own skill set.

Yeah, little benefit from fist fighting. Blades are better, so are hammers. Stick with 'em.

Basically Arameh, your proposal only favors the guys who already (technically) won the fight, and this proposal would punish the players of characters that aren't better skilled. That's a major jackboot in the groin right there, especially in the "fun" department.

Realism is cool, to a point. Like, when you accomplish a mission on a realistic basis without leaning too much on fantastic stuff. But real to the point where stuff breaks all the time - that's kind of a pain in the cerebral area of the head.

Yes, the multiple helmet thing is just a tad bit on the completely-re-freakin'-diculous side. Maybe helmets shouldn't break so much all the time.

*Gives Keikan two cookies* I like that idea a lot.

Somewhat off subject, but any chance of slowing down the NPC monsters? It seems that if you encounter a bandit that's stronger than you, you're guaranteed to die because he rides right behind you the whole way.

I say stricter rules on properly roleplaying fights should be made, with rulebreaking being a first time warning and a next time banning. No drinking potions while fighting for example. For fleeing...roleplay as you see fit. I say if the fight was unprovoked by the victim, it isn't really fair to no...

Here's a nice analogy for you. Illarion staff is like the big tobacco industry. They never tell us when something bad is gonna happen, but when they do something good for us, they announce it like all hell. Aw, but everybody does that. And much like the Big Tobacco Industry, Illarion hands me...

Quite opposite if you ask me. In RL fighting you only need to screw up once to lose/die. One failed dodge and thats it if your unlucky. But Andre Agassi should mess up pretty badly to lose a full game agains an amateur. I am pretty sure that even the 1st ranked fencer in the world doesnt win...

@Keikan Probably not a bad idea, but when I think of special moves - I think of turn based RPG combat like Final Fantasy. I mean, what's the point of special moves? If the "move" is designed to give one person an advantage over the other, why doesn't he just keep doing that movement over a...

I dont see it that way. I think it should be unlikely but still possible that the underdog wins. Thats how it works in RL too. Lol...you watch too much TV ;). In RL the Underdogs lose, not win like in movies. Bullshit. In movies the pro fighter(good guy) allways wins. I give you an example: ...

Keikan's got it right on the point. I don't like it, a distinction between Priest Magic and Mage Magic would have to be made, implying "this magic is for harming" and "the other magic is for making booboos better." Magic should remain open to anybody practicing it, the spell's purpose being the player's choice - no...

You guys are killing me with this overthought stuff.

Look, Illarion is based on western medieval times with some fantasy blended in. So it would make sense that a definite good/evil black/white exists. Go play Lao Tzu somewhere else.

'Evil' suggests it has it's own motives. A Lich is merely acting off it's owners will. Therefore it is 'programmed' if you will. A sharply dressed evil villan is very different to a zombie like creature such as a Lich. Zombies can not be described as evil. WTF? Stop derailing the topic. @Gishmel - ...

Well of course you can keep emphasizing the "shades of grey" point people, but that's just common sense. Nobody, in my eyes, is defined a villain if they're battling another party who has a contrary view. I would define a villain as an individual who is masochistic, enjoys killing/hurting ...

I'll be happy if Illarion is 100% villain characters for all I care.

There's always way too many characters who pretend to be neutral (but "fite 3vil to teh c0r3") and exist solely as glory-seekers.

I'm not using a realism argument, I just really think it's dopey. "You can't use this weapon 'cause you're not an elf." So, what is preventing a human from holding that "Elven only" weapon? Some magical, purple force field of pWnage? They can grip things too, just like elves. Bes...

I also don't like the idea. Every Illarion race comes with two legs, two arms and a torso. Unless lizard people can pop spikes from their knuckles or some shite, it wouldn't make sense to have racial weapons.
