Re: Illarion Feedback Survey 2021

I've been here for a long time, I've posted countless proposals and talked with countless people about the same things over the entirety of a decade. I've been demonized for things I never did, then I've been demonized for things I DID do. I have thrown under the bus by Gms, devs, and players alike....

Re: Illarion Feedback Survey 2021

You forgot to mention the structure of the three factions and the need for change in that regard. There is far too much swept under the rug- Address the problems already and stop avoiding them. Ps- Responding to requests by implying you cannot do it is just sad, we've had magical interfaces, weather...

Re: Downtime

Sardon is seen leaving the lands by Runewick Harbor, Brassius and others may have heard him say as he left "There is nothing in these lands, no work for mercenaries, no governing bodies to sspeak of, thiss one iss surprised these realmss have remained to this day, it's simply a wonder."

Buying small or bulk orders of potions

The Sardon seeks a variety of potions from one or more alchemists. He understands the depth and time it takes for such work as such The Sardon's orders shall be based on the alchemist's capacity. In little words, The Sardon seeks many potions and has plenty of gold to spend. There are also herbs and...

Re: What does herbology do exactly?

I have to clarify that the husbandry skill does not affect your speed in gathering herbs with a sickle. Gathering speed is determined by your constitution, gathering skill, and tool quality. This only relates to the particular skill you are using, it's not like Ultima where one skill passively effec...

Re: What does herbology do exactly?

Both your skill and the quality of your tool will influence your harvest speed. Recently it's been changed that one must be lv 70-90 (Not sure if it stars at 70 or 80) to get special items such as maps and elements.

Re: About town bans.

These things get heated, there has been alot of investment in these debates over many years. The problem that I find with the general consensus is that a majority of people are lumping 'evil chars' into a very unfair generalization. There are bad guys bad at being bad guys, however when someone come...

A note is posted on the Galmair Crest

*The text appears simply and carefully written* The Sardon has long assisted Galmair in the past, offered trade and often assisted with blade during crisis. He would like to make note that he is a mercenary, previously the assistance Sardon offered was due to Galmair's resources and tools which they...

Dedicated Silver ore location

Currently the gathering for silver is slower than gold nuggets- this has been a glaring balance issue

Proposal- add a designated source for silver ore, replace some coal rocks in coal mines and just put a small ammount of silver nodes in existing coal mines.

Re: Proposal for the new update

@katharina Easy to say when you have plenty of these rare items  What you describe has already been a limiting factor for jack of all trades, the problem is the fact that there's economic giants and there's economic ants and now nobody can touch the economic giants. So all we did was make more...

Re: Proposal for the new update

The constitution stat being a base for gathering is not new- this has been so since the vbu. The higher your constitution the higher your gathering speed is, I don't think that changed. Unless the update changed the formula I don't know. I assume this choice was made so that 'fighter' chars would be...

Re: Disrespect and Ignorance

Authority does not mean one can pick and choose who takes responsibility for their actions- To sweep the actions of some under a rug while those you may not like must take full responsibility. Some may even be consequenced through the law for doing nothing wrong, yet when people nearly destroy our t...

Re: Disrespect and Ignorance

There have been several efforts over many years to clear the plants and bury the remains. The council of Runewick had made it clear that to do so was a crime against the council or more accurately, it's former members the Bearers of Fire. Once they left the realm in the state they did, there has bee...

Currently there's nothing stopping someone from funneling gems from alts to their main characters. Yes, there is. https://illarion.org/illarion/us_rules.php#charmixing You are correct- now tell me how this can be moderated. We all know this is against the rules- Yet I have a rather slinking feeling...

Re: Perspective on magical gems

One more thing I would like to add though I don't know how it can be done technically.. Is there a way to track gems via dev tools? Currently there's nothing stopping someone from funneling gems from alts to their main characters. If magical gems continue to be issued through town taxes, I think it'...

Re: Perspective on magical gems

I really wish to see that towns aren't so engine focused, gaining rank shouldn't be for gems it should be for rp. I also wish to see towns get all the static tools though keep the balance within their market values. This would mean that characters can act truer to themselves without having the mecha...

Re: Perspective on magical gems

I am of an alternate opinion that we should have a gem wipe- to wipe out all existing gems, remove weekly gem handouts from town, and have characters earn gems through hunting monsters, maps and gathering.

Perspective on magical gems

I want to address an issue with perspective on magical gems. Let me give you what I've experienced. For the longest time magical gems were insanely abundant from towns. People were getting massive gems for massive coin output, there certainly was an issue of balance with this, however the damage of ...

Re: I am very afraid of loosing my gems now. (I might not even use them any more.)

If you have enough gems to put them into your bag rather than your belt or person, then losing a set is a hard lesson. Yet- you can literally afford it if you have that many sets of gems. Just pointing that out. I've straight up had a troll res-kill me and destroy 8 months worth of gems on a charact...

Re: The Dark element Revisited

Dark does not necessarily mean evil. It means an absence of light. Before anyone can say there is no 'light' element, Fire... it's fire. Like two poles of a magnet there's light and dark, heat and cold, life and death, movement vs stiillness. What's interesting and sadly never explored is the title ...

Re: The Dark element Revisited

My point here is that players should feel that there is moral complexity in the game, they should feel that they can fall to darkness and have actual fun with it and leave room for possible redemption. We should feel and see the dark things from the lore, they should be tangible in the game, more so...

Re: The Dark element Revisited

The Dark element Revisited

The Ars Magicka concept honestly seems great but I remain adamant that it is missing a very key theme of Illarion's lore. Spoilers ahead To put it into contrast the five elder gods were fighting one single powerhouse of a deity that was the Black Prince Madrook Na'han. These five elder gods had to r...
