Re: Downtime / Abwesenheit

Just a lifesign: After Christmas I had am unexpected busy schedule, then underwent minor surgery and when I actually had time and motivation to log in, it was during hours where not much was going on. And when I would have wanted to (e.g. Mas), there was no time. I hope that the two things -- my fre...

Re: Town Reforms: A more dynamic system of participation

How do you want that to be measured? A good point. That's why the idea would require three active and observant GMs. They will be able to see who plays when & how, just like any player can determine who else is active in their city. And then they make a human decision, not a number decision, meanin...

Re: Town Reforms: A more dynamic system of participation

What among online time, other "hard" requirements (things one can put in deterministic numbers, such as gold paid) and "soft" requirements (things one can not, such as piousness or sociality) should weight how much for the GM deciding? How could an ideal balance be achieved? I'd weight online time ...

Re: Town Reforms: A more dynamic system of participation

Leaders should be mortal, yes, but the GM run settlements serve a greater purpose. However, leader NPCs should be characters like everyone else, just played by a GM. Thus, they might change (and with that, also their ideas and goals), but not the underlying system. At least if following my initial p...

Town Reforms: A more dynamic system of participation

Prefarce: Looking at a constantly declining number of players and general unhappyness with some design features (ingame wise, not technical, mind you), visible in this and this topic, I think a discussion should be had as Achae suggested when the topic was closed. Also I am aware of the fact that t...

Re: You are the barrier...

If we're at it with thought provoking theories , let me add one: The VBU got rid of the "player run" towns and installed three GM leaders. Later, due to constructive criticism of the community, the staff ruddered back and allowed a hybrid : We still have the unreplacable three, who pose as statues, ...

Re: Resignation

Well he was good to his word and played the Don today.

I fondly remember your Don RP from when the VBU was still new, if I remember correctly. Despite any differences there might have been, was good seeing you in action again, wishing all the best & see you down he road. :)

Running for Chancellor / Kanzlerkandidatur

Old language below. I, Tyan Masines , have decided to run for Chancellor in the upcoming election of 17. Siros 53 09:00 . I realize this announcement comes rather shortly before election day, but I still wish to share my general agenda. If the people of Galmair should decide to have me elected, it ...

Flirting With Disaster - Young Beautiful In A Hurry

https://youtu.be/t513K7XQwAs

Horrible video, kinda catchy song. (Found it in the syfy series Defiance, which btw I recommend to anyone who likes classical SciFi such as Firefly -- if you can sit through the first few rather dorky episodes.)

Re: Questions about Repairing

Re: Update November 2017

It will probably take more testing, but in a first attempt I have to assess that wearing expensive jewelry and partly expensive clothing had little to no effect on magical resistance. I was wearing armor in a second try (it did not have effect anymore), Archmages Robe (perfect), two Archmages rings ...

Re: Questions about Repairing

The item used seems to be random, but I didn't test it yet. You need all necessary items for production available. The material is needed randomly. In average the material is used every 3.3rd repair if the item was 99% damaged But you'll need them in your bag to actually start the repairing process....

Re: Questions about Repairing

Apart from that, it would have been nice to know how the repair works. How do I fix something? As advertised, the "Repair" menu appears in the crafting menu if a player smith (or carpenter, or tailor) has an item in the belt that matches his or her skill level. A level 99 blacksmith can not repair ...

Re: Update November 2017

Sounds like another great update, all in all. It's especially cool that finally there are no "useless" slots in the inventory any more! It will be much harder to maintain perfect equipment and it's a huge money drain. If that was the intention of it, it'll play out nicely (without assessing the cons...

Re: Assault Bridge - Sturmbrücke

A rather crude concept drawing is left at the board. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/171113/wtb55isp.jpg The design would allow for transportation through narrow passages and portals, but it would likely require two people to carry it for the need of heat resistant heavy metals and merinium. Som...

LATE TANOS, THE YEAR 53 He reads -- out loud -- to himself. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." He smirks. Has there ever been anything more soothing than the sound of newly fallen snow crunching beneath your feet?
