Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
Galmair always got so bitterly cold at night, during the winter months. The sun had sank beneath the city's encapsulating mountains some two hours ago, which made the chill all the more bone-settling. Off between the narrow alley of two buildings, a figure leaned haphazardly against a stone wall, a ...

[[ This is a reflection of events that happened sometime in the past, standing separate from the current Old Ghosts storyline. It is a one-shot, there will be no follow-ups. Details of this post are NOT to be used ingame in any meta-form. Thank you. ]] The night was quiet, bearing the sort of still...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
"Perhaps you need some clarity," Eleanor had suggested quietly as they sat in the depths of Galmair, her head settled upon Kaelyn's lap in a way that beckoned the desert woman's fingers to caress through her hair. "Does he not want you to change? Or does he not want to change you?&quo...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I've never lied to you." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "Not even by omission?" Silence stretched between the two, damning by the weight of it as it settled. Dawn was just cresting along the eastern horizon, setting shadows on a sharp edge over distant dunes and the withered trees...

Re: Whose RP did you like today?
Shout-out to the two people that most consistently have a way of turning everything Kae thinks she knows about herself on end. Drathe and Eleanor - I never quite know how my character's gonna end the night when she crosses paths with you two, and I love it. Always flawless RP from both of you, thank...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
And so, the pendulum had fallen. With a violent downswing of too many things she had let slip out of control, too many threads she'd wrapped herself in far too soon threatening to pull her in every which direction, Kaelyn had watched as that momentary high turned into a spiraling fall. Years ago it ...

Oi. I just need to take a moment to give a shout-out to Jefferson just now. That was one of the most intense scenes I've played out in a long time that involved absolutely no violence or bloodshed. Props to you, making me (and my character) quake in our boots. Spot on.

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
They had survived. He had survived, and in that truth Kaelyn had allowed herself a moment of solace there in the quiet confines of Runewick's hospital. It had been a day - no, perhaps two now - since she had stirred back to consciousness there upon one of the hospital's beds just aside the one Drath...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
"Infection is setting in." The medico that stood aside the bed cast Kaelyn a look that could only be described as apologetic, a knowing gravity to her weary expression as she oversaw the treatment of the man upon the bed. It had been by her and her apprentices' hands that Drathe had been ...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
"Kaelyn, I'm going to need you to trust me." It was with a strange flavor of humor that Kaelyn realized such words had precisely the opposite effect. Almost immediately as she stood there in the center of Cadomyr's market and watched Eleanor take a pair of cuffs in hand, Kaelyn felt the b...

Two ones. She didn't understand the reference, not directly. It wouldn't be until much later, among friends as they played some dice game among themselves that even the slightest hint of understanding in that regard would strike her. The intent behind them did not go amiss however, and something lo...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
He didn't give her the chance to say anything more. As Drathe's name died off as little more than a murmur beneath the thunder that shook around them, as she turned aside to look his way only to find his gaze fixated on her in turn, Kaelyn felt the shift in the moment between them. At long last that...

Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
The solid thud of what was unmistakably a boot hitting square upon the door she stood before had Kaelyn biting back a grin. There were things this man did that, no matter how angry and hurt they sought to be with one another, drew her mirth. His temper when woken was one such thing, which drew her t...

Honestly, the past few days have been a delight returning to Illarion. It's beyond refreshing and warms my heart to see so many familiar faces IC and OOC, and to have witnessed 20+ of us in one spot for the fair event, what with its chaotic beginning and hilarious quips all around. I didn't get thei...

Character Playlists
Have you ever been listening to music and come across a song (or many songs) that just fit your character(s) and the situations they're in? Re: Old Ghosts & Other Things
"I can't do this again." The parting words that hung heavy in the air as Drathe turned his back on her lingered like an imprinted bruise as Kaelyn stood silent amid the shrine to Adron. Every fiber of her being wanted to chase him down, yet she found herself rooted in place as she watched...

I haven't gotten to post herr in so long, I'm so glad to be back! Thanks to Drathe, as always. You never fail to utterly impress when I get to write scenes with you. Also, S'rrt, Eleanor and co at the fields - thank you for an awesome moment, sorry I couldn't stick around a bit longer!

Old Ghosts & Other Things
The night was almost eerily still on the edges of the Iron Desert, interrupted only by the quiet sounds of a caravan that had tucked itself up against the banks of the Bloodwater river. In the far distance the sky was broken up by near invisible storm clouds that lit up occasionally with lightning -...

Re: Allow mixed races
This must be a (relative to the past 8 years) new rule as I had a half-elf character for some time. She took after her paternal side more therefore I just chose the human sprite and went with it. It never seemed to cause issue?
Either way, I second this proposal!

Re: Which NPC sells WOODEN shovels?
Karl,
If you are stuck in Galmair, you can also ask players around - carpenters can make wooden shovels very easily! Might save you some of those silver coins.

Even The Familiar Snake Will Bite (Open RP)
Rumours spread throughout Galmair of a face familiar to some, less so to others - but undeniably unforgettable to all. Dark olive skin, eyes the colour of chocolate traced with swirling black ink, a face that is in the same moment inviting yet closed off. Those that know her name her Kaelyn, the de...

I sense lots of antagonism there in the future. A hilarious thanks to Evie, Uhuru, Mel(...

Drathe , again. There's only so many ways to say "Always epic!". Jennivere , for being a hellaciously awesome sport. It was a rather unexpected run-in that spiraled into a crazy situation. To the elf and woman , neither of which I caught their names sadly, that I ran into at the Inn. What...
