A Call to Devotees of Eldan

Parchments have been tacked up around the various settlements on Gobaith, Briar, and Vanima (excluding only Nordmark). They read: ATTENTION, ALL ELDAN WORSHIPPERS I seek to found a guild to bring together all those who worship Eldan. This would not be a church of Eldan, since there would be no doctr...

Druid potion

Why are the Druid potions I'm brewing not working all of a sudden? Did the formula get changed? Is this a bug or a deliberate decision?

I'd like to second the Llama's request for a synopsis. In fact, a broad-strokes recounting of the whole quest would be aces. I tried on a couple of occasions (admittedly not very hard) to get in on the action but never figured out a way in.

All right. Thanks. It seems like some people are online, though. And usually, when the server is down, the game window doesn't open all the way. Weird.

Problem logging in

What am I doing wrong here? I go to the website, click on "Start Game." The client loads just fine (I think), and the little log-in window comes up. I click "Play." The client opens. I see the map of Gobaith that says "Gobiath." But then, when the game window is fully open, everything is blank: the ...

Some great RP the last couple of days. Thanks to: Yvanna; Saigwin; Tak; Daisy; Weasel; Lesska; Tinuviel; Enaya; Jerem; Drakon; Raina; and the incomparable Mel. And special thanks to: Kawako Tao, for KEL and HEPT and some quality RP along the way; and Ssar'ney, for the lesson on Lizardic culture. To ...

The Union has generally been a good place for RP of late. Thanks to everyone Elethua has spent time with there over the past few (dwarven) days.

As a grasslander, Tikir was a creature of Findari, and so they burned his body and let Findari’s wind carry his ashes away. Thig kept the charred skull, though. He needed it, he said, to remind him of a lesson learned: that no code is perfect, that every rule has its exceptions, and that sometimes w...

Thig administered the poison that evening. They had carried Tikir down to the bedchambers off the tailoring workshop and endeavored to make him as comfortable as they could. The only elf among them who managed to muster any good cheer was Tikir himself, who cracked jokes and took advantage of his pr...

Someone must have carried Tikir out to the Garden. That is where Thig found him, propped up in a chair, eyes closed, enjoying the soft, early summer sunshine on his face. The face that was once a rich, dark brown and now looked almost charcoal-gray. Everything about the once lively and good-humored ...

Tikir dies.

It started with a bit of stiffness in his joints. He didn’t think much of it at first: it’s just some lingering effect of the fever; it will dissipate in time. But the stiffness didn’t go away. It only got worse, until eventually he could barely move his elbows and knees, and his shoulders and hips ...

To step back and define what these things mean extrinsically, as players, seems somehow to undermine the very life that our characters have given it. Sorry, I wasn't looking for a decisive definition OOC. My characters and I already had opinions as to what, if anything, the distinction between Vani...

I just realised that if you look at the Map of Gobaith - it clearly shows "TOL VANIMA" to be the island, with "Vanima" inside it. True 'dat. Still, it's ambiguous just which part of the island is supposed to be Vanima proper. It might not be a proper part (in the technical, mereological sense). It ...

"Vanima" vs. "Tol Vanima"

A question about usage: Are these terms just synonyms? Or does anyone else also understand there to be a difference between Vanima and Tol Vanima? I somehow got the idea that Tol Vanima is the island and Vanima is a political entity (not quite a city or even a town, but that sort of thing) that sits...

I realise that you can't write this word since non-German keyboards lack the ü and ß. However, you can write it as "Gruesse". You can get the umlaut and the ß on a non-German keyboard. You just have to know how. On a Mac, the umlaut is OPTION + U and then the vowel you want the umlaut to crown. The...

I often have a D&D alignment in mind when I create a character, but it never quite sticks, and the characters become harder to categorize as they take on personalities of their own. I myself am pretty obviously Neutral Good (a fact confirmed by a Facebook quiz I took once), as is/was Tikir. (In fact...

Thig: I'm always drawn to nature-magic in any sort of fantasy context, so it was fairly inevitable that I'd start with a Druid. The Minister of Druids

One further point, regarding the representative of the Druids on the Council of Ministers: the person most obviously suited for this job is Brother Azuros Tjime, Elder of the Free Druids. The second most qualified candidate is, unfortunately, me. I hereby nominate Azuros to be Minister of Druids. If...
