Northerot
About:
Lord: Darlok
Location: Varshikar

Northerot is the old name of the region called Varshikar today. Though the name Northerot is nearly forgotten today, one sign on the way from Troll's Bane to Varshikar still reads parts of 'Northerot', but is overwritten with 'Varshikar' today. Northerot was founded by Darlok and built upon ancient ruins, which held the powerful mana well in their center.

[edit] 1 The Creation of Northerot

Before Darlok began to shape this northern part of the island anew, it was a stony wasteland with wide mountains. The old castle ruins of ancient times held the mana well, a place that had caused trouble and danger before. Ogres had inhabitet the ruins.

When Darlok cast the drought upon Gobaith, he forced the inhabitants of Troll's Bane to rebuild the old castle. In return Darlok promised to end the drought. The castle was completely rebuild, althought several assaults hindered the construction process. The mana well was a source of power for Darlok.

[edit] 2 The Fall of Northerot

While Darlok was ruling over Northerot, it was a constant point of struggle and conflict with the other inhabitants of Gobaith. During that time Darloks servants often changed, but eventually the conflicts endet in the Northerot war, in which troops from all over the island fought. Castle Northerot was sieged and fell a few days later. The circumstances of Darloks death are not completely known, although his servants announced he 'just died'. Later, to destroy the threat of Northerot and of the mana well for all time, Neon Rift, a chosen one of Bragon and Damien magically overloaded the mana well, causing a huge explosion which also destroyed castle Northerot.

Northerot was then overtaken by a few of the parties who had taken place in the war. Firstly houses were built around the destroyed castle, later the castle itself was rebuilt. Northerot was named Varshikar and became the third big city on Gobaith, next to Troll's Bane and Silverbrand.
