Muten Rôshi, sometimes referred to as "The Rôshi", was a powerful being on Gobaith. Even though its appearance equaled a male lizard, it claimed to be a being of divine origin. Unlike other heroes of the old days, the Rôshi preferred to perform his noble deeds in solitude, not being out for fame or glory. Legend tells that the Rôshi fought demons bare handed, outstanding any common being on the island of Gobaith by power and strength. But in all actions, the seed of chaos was present, so rumors were spread that Muten Rôshi was actually an avatar of Nargun himself.

The Rôshi fought in many battles alongside the greatest heroes of the old days. With the days passing, more and more peasants started to believe in the divine origin of Muten Rôshi, a fact that was declined by many scholars back then. The Cult of the Zhylliolöm was founded to spread the doctrines of Mutenism, of chaos, power and love. But even Muten Rôshi's power could not widthstand the dark craft of Darlok and when the era of the old heroes ended, the Rôshi left the island for good. Some claim the younger gods have called the Rôshi to them for the followers of the Cult of the Zhylliolöm started to dishonor the doctrines of Mutenism and did foul deeds in the name of the Rôshi.
