[edit] 1 Aspects of magic
[edit] 1.1 Mages
Mages are perhaps the most common group of casters people take up. Mages are found widley among humans and elves but can be found in any race. Magic in Illarion depends on runes. As a new mage character, you do know some of the theory, but you don't know the runes yet. These can be aquired by finding a master mage who agrees that he will teach you – some will do that just if they like you, some will do that for many coins – or in some quests. A common mage normaly wears robes reflecting the type of magic he uses, e.g. red robes for fire magic.
[edit] 1.2 Druids
Druids are a peaceful nature loving people. Druids are often healers relying on nature and it's plants. If you're ever injured it is recommended going to a druid. Note: Druid magic is actually removed from the game.
[edit] 1.3 Priests
Priests are not always users of magic but they are very religious people. Priests usually rely on the power of the gods they worship to give them an advantage. Note: Priest magic is not present in the game but IS under development.
[edit] 1.4 Bards
Bards draw their power over the feelings and minds of peoples by chanting mystic and hypnotic tunes. Note: Bard magic is not present in the game and not under development.
[edit] 2 Theory of magic
There is no official guideline in Illarion yet how magic really works, although the Magic Academy wrote articles about it.
