[edit] 1 Example
When you enter the game, you will see six main areas on the screen.
[edit] 2 Explanations
The large part on the top left that takes up most of the screen is the display field. This shows you the area of the map you are standing in, and all items, people, buildings, and objects that occupy that area as well. However, people and objects will only show if you can see them, i.e., if your view of them is not obstructed by anything else.
Directly beneath that there is a long black box that displays text. This will display any help or advice the game has, for example it will tell you when you are too tired or hungry to work, or if an item breaks. It will also display ‘broadcasts’ which are messages sent to every player by GM characters, and it will display the emotes and text of other players within your range. If you begin typing something, it will appear in this box.
At the bottom of the screen there is a space with a small counter. This counter allows you to set the number of items you will manipulate (use or drop) when you click on them. Pressing the 'home' key sets the counter to 1, the 'end' key sets it to 250, and the 'page up' and 'page down' keys increment it by 1 either way. In this space you can also view additional inventories.
At the top right of the screen is a mini-map. This shows a small rough map of the buildings, streets and waterways that you have seen in your local travels. The blacked out areas represent places that you've not yet explored.
In the middle right of the screen are several coloured bar indicators for crucial statistics of your character. The red bar is hitpoints, the yellow bar is food level, and the blue bar is mana.
- Hit points represent the health of your character. This will reduce itself per attack on the character, depending on the constitution. When it reaches 0 (it is all drained) the character dies. The health bar will be restored over time by itself, providing that the character isn't hungry ((if the character is hungry, it will not increase. See food level.)) Health Potions will increase the health at once.
- Food level indicates how well-fed your character is. ((More info needed here.))
- Mana is reduced every time a spell is attempted; and each spell will drain the mana a different amount. Time will replace the lost mana, but there is always the option of mana potions.
On the lower right side of the screen is a sketch of a person. It shows anything you are carrying on your body or holding. As you move your mouse over each section on the diagram, it states what can be held there. The diamonds at the bottom show what you are carrying on your belt. Every character starts out carrying a leather bag, and you can also buy one from a certain NPC in game. Your bag will initially be in the backpack inventory spot above your shoulder, next to your neck. To open your bag, right-click on it. A number of black inventory diamonds will open up at the bottom of the screen near the counter. You can now drag things into and out of your bag.
