Eldan is described to be wise, quiet, pensive and an ivory-tower.

Eldan's followers claim that Eldan will appear as a mage or a scholar. Occasionally he is seen as a beggar or a drunken philosopher. He is known for always carrying a wooden staff.

Eldan dislikes the hustle and bustle of big cities or the noisiness of large crowds. Instead he prefers solitude, but seldom can he be found in remote inns.

Eldan has never been active amongst mortals. Very few people pray to him. Since he has never been heard or seen in public, no one knows how to identify him. His few believers do not talk about him and there are many rumors that he still wanders around in Illarion in disguise. People who follow Eldan are often hermits or people who love drinks and long philosophical talks; they claim to have met him personally and instead of praying they talk or discuss in empty places.
