Carpentry
From Illapedia
Carpentry is the ancient craft of turning wood into usable products such as plates, bowls, hand tools, shields, musical instruments, bows and arrows. To begin, you will need some wood through lumberjacking. Different wooden logs, branches and boughs are needed to make various items. Other materials are occasionally needed including pins and thread especially.
[edit] 1 Using the saw
To begin you must convert those logs into wooden boards suitable for carving. To do this, find a workbench and face it. Then you need a saw in hand, and the logs in your belt. Now, simply use the workbench and you will hear sawing sounds indicating that the logs are being cut ans transformed into boards. Sawing logs is the easiest way to increase the carpentry skill, although you won't learn a lot from just sawing wood.
[edit] 2 Using the slicer
A slicer is primarily used to make "solid" items such as plates, bowls, shields, armor and some tools. To make items using apple, cherry or conifer boards hold the slicer in hand and face the workbench and use the slicer. Select a category in the appearing parchment menu and then the item you wish to make. Depending on the item, you will need specific kinds and numbers of boards or additional items. The categories and items available will increase as skill increases.
[edit] 3 Using the carving tools
The carving tools are primarily used to make handles, staves, musical items, bows and arrows. To make items using branches, boughs or apple, cherry or conifer boards hold the carving tools in hand. Face the workbench and use the tools. Select now a category from the parchment and then the item you wish to make. Depending on the item, you will need specific kinds and numbers of boards or additional items. The categories and items available will increase as skill increases.
